Under general supervision, assist the Quality Manager in the execution of the Quality Management System at Shields Manufacturing with regards to product inspections, first article submissions, corrective and preventive actions, internal audits, as well as customer and supplier communication and data submittals. Additionally, the inspector will provide inputs and coaching to continually improve the understanding and adherence to quality assurance disciplines across the company.
Salary range: $ 25 to $ 27 per hour.

Education/Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of experience serving as a quality assurance inspector in a production environment.
Demonstrated skills identifying, measuring and managing product Key Characteristics.
Demonstrated knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) guidelines and practices.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office (word, excel, and outlook).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to demonstrate attention to detail in completing assignments and in communicating to internal and external representatives.
Work Setting
A combination of general office setting, with typical moderate noise levels in a temperature-controlled environment, and a production shop environment with machining and assembly operations.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Duties in the field require squatting, kneeling, balancing, climbing, and the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects. Duties also involve exposure to loud noises, moving traffic, slippery and/or uneven surfaces, working at heights on ladders and roofs, confined crawl spaces, and adverse weather conditions.
WORK SCHEDULE

The metal fabrication Quality Control Technician is responsible for verifying all fabricated metal parts meet established quality standards. The technician will work closely with the Quality Engineer to complete inspections throughout the production process. This involves using measuring tools and techniques to identify defects, ensuring compliance with blueprints and specifications, and reporting any issues to production teams to maintain product quality and prevent further problems.
Responsibilities
* Inspect fabricated parts by visually and physically examining metal components at various stages of production, such as raw materials, cut pieces, welded joints, and finished products, to check for dimensional accuracy, surface defects, and compliance with design specifications.
* Utilize measuring tools such as tape measures, levels, calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring instruments to ensure tolerances are met.

Job Designation
The Quality Inspector provides technical support to the quality team. Conducts examinations and quality control inspections on products, materials, components and parts at various stages of the production process, to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards.
Job Core Responsibilities
-Conducts examinations and quality control inspections on products, materials, and components on all types of standard and special products, to insure alignment with product requirements and quality standards
- Provides detail analysis, troubleshooting and evaluation of components, assemblies and systems
- Maintains documentation records and data on tests performed
- Sets up or builds special test panels to facilitate testing and /or evaluation as needed
- Recommends quality control solutions to complex problems and implements corrective actions

Job Specifications
A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
Vocational Training and/or apprenticeships in Quality Control Inspections or equivalent experience in related field
2-4 years of relevant experience
Skills:
Skilled at performing examinations and quality control inspections on products, materials, components and parts on all types of standard and special products
Experience with blueprints, drawings and parts lists
Proficient computer skills

These are critical positions within the company and present a great opportunity for someone to provide final assurance to all our valued customers that their products are being provided with the highest level of quality possible.
Please note that preference will be given to candidates that have experience working in a manufacturing setting, but this is not required.
Shifts available:
Day Shift
: Monday through Thursday, 5 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; and
Swing Shift
: Monday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.
You will earn an industry leading hourly shift differential for the swing shift.
Both positions are full-time and eligible for benefits.
Please note that these positions are onsite (not remote/not hybrid) and not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
