This position is also responsible for operating mechanical inspection equipment to verify product for conformance to engineering requirements. Under guidance, performs receiving inspection, incoming tooling inspection, first part buy-off inspections, systematic inspection of processes being undertaken by production and final inspection before shipping of product. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include, but, are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned. Understand geometric dimensioning & tolerance in accordance with ANSI Y14.5. Visually and mechanically measure and inspect parts utilizing a variety of tools including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, taper gauge, paint thickness gauge and vernier caliper Perform first part verification, in-process and final inspection of product. Assist with First Article Inspection (FAI) performing bubble drawings with results documented. Perform basic inspection tool calibration. Read and interpret blueprints. Measure parts in accordance with blueprints. Operate CMM and/or Romer Arm using predetermined alignments, and calibrate as required. Identify and segregate nonconforming product. Review disposition on nonconforming product. Supplies discrepancy sketches, as required for nonconforming product. Assist with Root Cause and Correction Actions. The successful candidate will be responsible for in-process and final inspections. The Quality Control Inspector is part of the QA team and is also responsible for general quality related tasks. The Quality Control Inspector reports directly to the Quality Production Supervisor.
