The Controls Intern will support controls related projects for complete seat. This person will work under the guidance of a controls engineer to develop and implement projects requiring controls architecture and programming.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Working under the guidance of a controls engineer, the controls intern will do the following related to complete seat assembly equipment project(s) Specify controls components required for the project Develop schematics and drawings as required Install and configure components Develop or modify PLC and/or HMI programs needed for the project Assist in startup and debug Participate in equipment design reviews, installation and debug at local complete seat plants.Update or develop documentation related to controls standards and best practices.

Qualification Requirements:

Role/Responsibilities: Understand the voice of the customer from Field Issues reported Implement the root cause analysis, testing parts, assemblies return, in order to generate containments & permanent corrective actions Contribute to reducing issue incident rates from top 30 Warranty Issues reported on Field from one of the following Systems: ADAS, Infotainment, Exterior And interior Trims, Body in White or Closures Work closely with Vehicle Quality Specialist Engineers Take charge of cross functional discussion between Manufacturing, Supplier Quality and Engineering Departments.

OVERVIEWThe automation controls engineer support the design, development and sustainment of advanced manufacturing solutions to increase production quality and velocity-solutions include the use of Robotics, PLCs, PCs, safety controllers, sensors, pneumatics, and other typical automation technologies. The automation controls engineer partners with other functions to identify and deploy opportunities with the production operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop solution for automation opportunities using Plexus standard process, Plexus approved solution providers and/or the global Plexus automation team.Develop Proof of Concept (POC) prototypes for new programs and tooling for additional products to be added to an automated production process. Architect and develop software and system concepts that satisfy the innovative technology requirements. Lead programming and development of software and electrical capabilities.Lead development of required documentation, including software workflows, intended uses, requirements, electrical schematics and network diagrams for developed technologies. Define and execute required software verification and validation testing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Student working towards a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering program for entire duration of internship.
