What You'll Do: Performs all QC Lab activities, including but not limited to: all Standard Work Process (SWP), Management Systems, and analytical responsibilities. What We're Looking For: Provide internal and external customers with the highest level of customer service in responsiveness while performing QC activities. Interface with all corporate, commercial, supply chain, customer experience, and lab / operations personnel. Communicate between departments when reporting results and execute SWP / SOP in an exemplary manner. Perform all test methods without supervision within precision and accuracy standards. Assist in writing SWP, SOPs, methods, protocols, and reports. Perform daily laboratory maintenance. Oversee the training of new employee's basic laboratory skills and functions. Perform simple problem solving and participate in improving daily work Skills That Make a Difference: Associate degree in chemistry or a related technical field or 5 years' experience in an industrial manufacturing laboratory. Experience with one of the following analytical techniques: physical property testing wet chemistry advance instrumental analytical techniques. Highly self-motivated individual, focused on providing high quality laboratory data in an efficient manner, while exhibiting excellent workplace skills. Solid background in Microsoft Office and computer-based instrument control systems for analytical equipment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to make competent, independent, decisions in a timely manner to ensure excellent progress on assigned tasks. Ability to effectively manage multiple and or changing priorities with minimal to no supervision. Must possess the ability to interact effectively and professionally with internal customers, external customers, vendors, and various stakeholders. Considered a Plus: Bachelor's degree in chemistry with 1-5 years relevant experience. Industrial chemical manufacturing laboratory experience is preferred with 1-5 years' experience. Perform analytical testing including: Solids Content, pH, Vitamin C, Viscosity, Organoleptic, Hydrogen Peroxide Residual, and Packaging Integrity. 9. Verify proper set-up of production lines at start-up and shift change: Printer set-up (coding), packaging materials, labeling, quality limits, etc. Ensuring code date information is accurate and distributed to the production team. 10. Review sanitary condition of production lines prior to start-up by visual and mechanical inspection, performing ATP (adenosine triphosphate / verify surface cleanliness) and APC (Aerobic Plate Count / Verify absence of microbiological organisms). 11. Perform pH analysis of samples as part of root cause investigations. 12. Use inventory control software to ensure non-conforming product does not enter commerce. 13. Assist in investigations in response to customer concerns or other quality related deviations to determine root cause and appropriate corrective actions. 14. Assist in the management of quality hold activities, including non-conforming product inventories. 15. Ensure lab equipment, fridges and thermometer etc. are properly maintained and calibrated. 16. Lead and organize incubation sample collection and processing for investigations. 17. Maintain and follow MFI micro sample and shelf-life study programs. 18. Conduct thorough inspections of various tools, gauges, fixtures, and components, including complex and intricate parts, to assess workmanship accuracy and functional performance. Set up, program and utilize various precision measuring devices and instruments for meticulous checking and adjustment of tools and gauges. Determine appropriate inspection methods and program when warranted, perform complex setups, and conduct first article inspections to ensure product quality. Program when warranted, operate the CMM to inspect first articles, regular production components, and reworked machined items, receiving inspections ensuring adherence to quality standards. Verify finished products against internal and customer specifications, ensuring compliance with technical drawings and requirements. Assist engineering teams with CMM programing and CMM program editing, to accommodate specific engineering needs. Perform periodic maintenance and calibration of metrology equipment. Troubleshoot issues with testing equipment and ensure proper functioning for ongoing quality assurance activities. Operate testing devices following prescribed sequences, accurately recording test data, via Microsoft Office (mainly Excel) and identifying deviations from expected results. Prepare detailed & accurate reports on test outcomes for management review, via Microsoft Office (mainly Excel), providing actionable recommendations regarding product performance, malfunctions, or failures. Provide training to new and existing team members on inspection techniques, equipment programming, quality standards, and best practices, fostering a knowledgeable workforce. What Are the Requirements of the Job? Associate degree (A.A.) from an accredited technical college or equivalent; or a combination of education and experience 3-5 years of experience At least 3 to 5 years CMM programming experience Experience with Mitutoyo CMM's & MCOSMOS (Preferred) Experience with contracers & contrace software Able to perform surface plate manual measurements, hand gages, layout fixtures. Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel. Proficient in General Dimension & Tolerance Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documents, including safety guidelines, operational instructions, and procedure manuals. Strong mathematical skills, with the ability to perform calculations involving rates, ratios, percentages, and various measurements. Capable of identifying problems, collecting relevant data, and drawing logical conclusions. Ability to follow complex instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information effectively to diverse audiences. Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, fostering cooperation and support among colleagues. Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis software is preferred. Experience with inspection equipment and the ability to work from complex blueprints, schematics, and inspection specifications. The role requires regular standing, walking, and using hands to manipulate tools and equipment. Candidates must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach for materials as needed. Vision abilities necessary for mechanical inspections include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employees will work in proximity to moving mechanical parts and may encounter wet conditions or elevated spaces. Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and the risk of electric shock is possible when working near electro-mechanical equipment.
