What is a quality control senior scientist and how to become one

Quality control senior scientists devise measures to assess the quality of products and procedures. They conduct tests to evaluate every phase and aspect of the production, from the quality of raw materials, including lab tests run on their components, through the assembly or chemical processes, down to the final manufactured product.

Working in this position, you will work together with various departments and attend meetings to discuss project goals and understand what type of metrics can adequately measure quality levels. You will assess risks related to production processes and used materials and monitor compliance with quality standards.

You will need a degree in chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field to be considered for this position. Several years of experience working in quality control will also be necessary. You will have to know your way around various regulations controlling the quality of processes and products in your area of expertise.
