What You'll Be Doing
The Fill Production Technician I is a Salaried Non-Exempt position which contributes to our mission of saving and sustaining lives by supplying, operating, and maintaining various equipment in the Fill areas. Additional tasks will include the performance and documentation of all quality checks for responsible equipment as well as inspection of product at all times.
Operate, monitor and make adjustments as necessary to manual and automated filling equipment and machines using controls on an electrical control panel (HMI) or by way of manual adjustments.
Set-up load and replenish production supplies by use of a powered industrial truck (PIT) at a rate consistent with production needs.
Perform minor routine and preventative maintenance such as alignment adjustments, replacement of machine parts or belts, cleaning and lubrication while supporting Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
Reconcile headcount needed on a per shift basis based on schedule production demands.
Perform scheduled quality checks, disposition product, identify any deviations that may occur and take the appropriate action to include stopping production on the machine if necessary.
Inspect finished product to ensure quality standards are being met.
Complete batch/code changes, tank changes, as well as sub lots as needed.
Document required information on manufacturing logs and/or POMS system.
Investigate, identify and correct or escalate any inefficiency in the machine's performance including mechanical wear, alignment, adjustment, and setup issues.
Develop standard work for troubleshooting and setups/changeovers.
Read blueprints and use tools to measure the product, ensuring the output meets specifications, making adjustments/repairs as needed.
Perform and document scheduled cleaning activities.
Assist in Quality Improvement or VIP programs if required.
Work with Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor to coordinate training requirements for line staff.
Train new associates on responsible processes.
Ensure the proper use, care, and storage of tools and equipment.
Notify the supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality, mechanical or discrepancy issues occur.
Learn, understand and apply meticulous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles including maintaining and securing provided tools.
What You'll Bring
High School Diploma or GED and must be at least 18 years of age.
CRC (Career Readiness Certification) at the Silver level preferred.
Production Technician or manufacturing experience with duties including preventative maintenance, machine troubleshooting, etc. preferred.

Organizes manufacturing processes and practices through the development and application of standard operating parameters for all products and equipment used in the manufacturing operation. Responsibilities
Develop, document, and maintain standard press operating parameters for the set up and startup of every job along with deviation documentation and control process to record and track process deviation(s).
Activities involve using time-study or standard data for a variety of machine, assembly and hand operations, production methods, equipment layout, material handling, and manpower, equipment and material utilization in order to improve operating performance.
Analyze production results and deviations to determine root causes of failures and/or process inconsistencies using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.
Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing.
Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations.
Troubleshoot new and existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes.
Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassembling equipment.
Assist in the review product designs for manufacturability and completeness.
Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness.
Investigate or resolve operational problems such as material use variances and bottlenecks.
Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and utilities. Coordinate manufacturing processes with quality control objectives and standards and initiate activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost.
Ensure that the Environmental and Safety policies are followed.
Comply with procedures, regulations, and instructions of environmental and safety programs.
Promote the fulfillment and awareness of customer requirements, of quality system requirements, and all relevant state, federal, and local legal and regulatory requirements in Environmental and Safety aspects.

Qualifications
High school diploma: Degree from a vocational school will be a plus.
Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing or assembly environment required.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Relevant experience may be substituted for the education requirement at the discretion of the hiring manager or Plant manager.

What You Will Do:
Work from applicable written inspection procedures, drawings, and other pertinent instructions to plan and perform dimensional and visual inspection on parts, tools, gages and other equipment,
Accept material or referring for rework or quality review based on findings
Use a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments including automated measuring machines where program instructions are well defined to check dimensions and record results and perform necessary problem solving to determine extent of nonconformance and complete documentation and follow proper procedures to perform in-line checks and verification of dimensions and make sure that process steps are being followed
Perform Solumina required job audits for Op Cert surveillance and perform OpCert over inspects, as required
Maintains knowledge of and complies with customer/Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)/Joint Aviation Administration (JAA) technical data as applicable
Train other operators to perform work tasks
Provide technical support and maintain a strong working relationship with the Operations team and demonstrate and maintain effective leadership skills.
Exhibits consistent skill and positive attitude towards their job while demonstrating the highest degree of quality and productivity
Detailed inspection cert is required at the conclusion of training
What You Will Learn: Working on the production line, you will inspect blades and vanes as well as perform over-inspects for operators. The position requires shift work and ability to work overtime when needed. The inspector will work to obtain an inspection stamp. They will be able to perform basic inspection functions like being able to read a blueprint, use basic hand gauges and understand technical standards. The basic operations would include visual inspections, writing Quality Notifications and performing over-inspects for operations.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Quality representative for the manufacturing process. Requires ability to accept or reject product, contain suspect product, support manufacturing goals for scrap and NOK rate reduction, adhere to established quality requirements & standards, and protecting internal & external customers from non-conforming product for Morganton Plant Production Processes. Work hours are 3 pm to 11:30 pm Mon-Fri.
Perform timely testing and analysis on Production parts
(NOK's, process variation, etc) to determine root cause
and provide information / data for corrective actions.
Monitor Production line data (SPC) to focus and prioritize
part analysis and investigations to protect the customer
and lower scrap rates
.1) Perform testing and analysis on Production parts (NOK's, process variation, etc…)
2) Utilize data monitoring tools to highlight analysis priorities.
3) Support (Production, QAP, IT, etc…) in establishing optimized and updated Production data monitoring methods and alert triggers.
4) Develop and maintain current knowledge / information (as necessary) on product and station drawings, specifications, etc…
5) Document findings into individual reports and/or trend information.
6) Work with Sr. Quality Engineer (Jidoka), QAP and FA Operators to establish optimized Production line analysis strategy and support accordingly (Jidoka meetings, training…).
7) Support Plant and Worldwide meetings as needed (Fast response, Jidoka, Internal Defect Management, Scrap Reduction, etc…)
8) Plan and carry out special studies as needed to lower NOK & reject rates or gather data for changes to the process or product.
9) Maintain testing and analysis equipment, perform calibration activities.
Qualifications
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
Associates degree or 2 yrs relevant work experience in lieu of an Associates Degree.

Qualifications:
