QA Inspector- FPI Visit our website: **************** Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) is a non-destructive testing method. It is used to detect surface defects in metallic and non-metallic components, including metal castings, forgings, and other machined parts used in industrial applications. The person selected is required to attend FPI Certification training in March of 2026 QA Inspector- FPI Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, the QA FPI Inspector is responsible for following all policies and procedures associated with the various parts and equipment that they may be required to run. In addition, inspectors must load/unload parts, inspect parts using various precision measuring tools, accept or reject parts, and communicate any changes, both verbally and in writing. Analyze and interpret Op sheets, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and travelers to produce products that meet or exceed customer specifications. Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to customer specifications, using precision measuring tools and equipment as necessary, such as borescopes, rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers. (A MUST HAVE) Perform and document the scheduled FPI test log and reports Maintain, test, and replenish dipping solutions Clean parts using chemical degreaser and parts wash machine Prep parts using specialized material Inspect parts using ultraviolet light Report proper labor hours in the ERP system Maintain a safe and clean work environment by performing daily housekeeping duties Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications. Follow all Hi-Tek policies and procedures, including the use of proper PPE Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment. Document all non-conformances on the quality check sheets. • Inform Director of Commercialization & Quality and/or Quality Manager of any issues that occurred during the shift. • Ensure the Pack Report matches the product being produced on the line and is completed properly. • Ensure all supervisor verifications are completed and at the required time-frame. • Ensure all persons in the production area are observing GMP (No gum or candy, wearing hairnets and beard nets properly, wearing gloves if required, etc.) and notify Production Supervisor if not. • Verify that only the parts and line folder for the product being produced are on the production line (verify line clearance). • Verify that components brought to the line are correct and document component part number and description as required by paperwork. • Complete a quick walk around of each pallet of finished goods prior to it being taken out of the production area to ensure that it meets the requirements of the Line Folder. • Ensure all required testing and sampling is being done, including both in-process and finished goods. • Supply samples of poor quality finished product found during hourly inspections to the Director of Commercialization & Quality and/or Quality Manger for evaluation. • Audit the production line for cleanliness. (No empty boxes scattered all over, trashcans not overflowing onto floor, cardboard debris and banding is cleaned up in a timely manner, etc.) • Work on production line in various roles including but not limited to: • Wrap, box, label and carton product for shipping customer goods while maintaining the highest value of customer service in a most accurate, timely and efficient manner. • Review Pack Reports and Batch Records to ensure they are complete and release the resulting product for further processing or shipment to the trade.
