As a Quality CMM Technician for General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) Precision Structures & Optics (PSO), you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to ensure that all machined parts meet stringent quality and precision standards. This role requires a strong understanding of metrology, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). The Quality CMM Technician performs overall quality inspection for machined parts to ensure they meet the company's quality standards for the manufacture of Beryllium products for use in the most demanding applications, across the aerospace, defense, and nuclear industries. Our products are used in high performance sensing systems for targeting and acquisition, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions, and are hardened for the battlefield environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate CMM equipment to perform precise measurements of machined parts
Program CMM machines using appropriate software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso)
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols to determine measurement requirements
Conduct first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections to verify product compliance
Document and report inspection results, including any deviations or non-conformances
Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues
Maintain and calibrate CMM equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability
Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and standards
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and quality standards
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso)

This Role

What You Will Do

Position/Project Overview:
Project Solutions Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician for USACE North Regional Area Office Construction Management Services at Redstone Arsenal, AL. This position will provide technical support to the North Regional Area Office to enable timely, compliant construction management across Redstone Arsenal projects.
This role is contingent upon award of project.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Review Contractor's Quality Management and Control Procedures
Review Construction Submittals
Review project deficiencies
Review projects associated claims and Request for Equitable Adjustments
Technical Interpretations of Drawing and Specifications
Review Contractor's Record of Work Accomplished
Review project plans and specs to determine practicability.
Review and provide technical recommendations on Request for Information (RFIs)
Attend project associated meetings
Required Education, Knowledge and Skills:
Associate degree in a physical or biological science, military training, or 5+ years relevant field-technician experience.
Working knowledge of field and environmental surveys, data collection and entry, basic environmental regulations, hazardous material and solid-waste management, and damage surveys.
Ability to communicate effective both orally and in writing.
Experience in preparing correspondence, written reports, and briefing clients and management personnel.
Knowledge of local and national codes.
Knowledge of construction means and methods.
Ability to interpret Architectural/Engineering plans and specifications.
Familiarity with modern construction products (quality, uses, and applications).
Knowledge of commonly utilized construction management software.
OSHA 30-hour construction safety training preferred.
Ability to maintain a valid driver's license.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
This position requires both office and field work, exposing the employee to various weather conditions and construction site hazards. Physical demands include frequent sitting, standing, walking, and occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. The ability to lift up to 25 pounds and wear personal protective equipment is essential. Frequent travel to the job site(s) is also required.

Your role:
You will be part of the team and install, operate, and maintain LOCAITS instrumentation.
What you'll do all day:
Install, operate, and maintain LOCAITS instrumentation.
Support the LOCAITS lead engineer in the design, installation, production and deployment of LOCAITS GPS/IMU kits on various aerial and ground vehicles platforms.
Support both local and TDY test events involving LOCAITS data collection on integrated aviation/weapons systems.
As part of LOCAITS test support, install and operate range equipment (camera's, intercom, video monitors, fiber and ethernet cables).
