Summary:
The Cath Lab Technologist is responsible for assisting in diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab. This role involves preparing patients and equipment, monitoring hemodynamic data, assisting physicians during procedures, and ensuring patient safety throughout the process. The technologist operates specialized imaging equipment, maintains sterile technique, and collaborates with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care. This position requires technical expertise in cardiovascular procedures, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations.
Essential Work Functions:
Prepare and position patients for cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, electrophysiology studies, and other interventional procedures
Assist physicians during procedures by passing catheters, wires, balloons, and stents, and operating fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
Operate and maintain imaging equipment, contrast injectors, and hemodynamic monitoring systems, ensuring proper functionality
Scrub in and assist with sterile field setup, ensuring adherence to infection control and procedural protocols
Perform sheath removal and hemostasis using manual compression or closure devices as directed
Maintain accurate documentation, including patient records, imaging data, and equipment logs
Assist with inventory management, stocking supplies, and ensuring proper storage of sterile instruments and medications
Adhere to radiation safety protocols, ensuring proper use of lead aprons, shields, and dosimeters
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements
Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

General Summary
Under general supervision performs a variety of routine and specialized technical procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory/Interventional Radiology Department. Assists physicians in the performance of cardiovascular diagnostic testing and other therapeutic/interventional procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
Principal Responsibilities And Tasks

If certified by ARRT: Operates fluoroscopy, digital angiography equipment, applying ionizing radiation to cardiology patients in accordance with standard operating procedures and according to departmental policies and procedure
Operates hemodynamic assessment tools to include cardiac output, blood gas analyzers, oxygen consumption analyzers, and patient monitoring equipment such as blood pressure cuffs, electrocardiogram and pulse oximeters to measure the various vital functions during the procedure.
Operates procedural equipment to include but not limited to: Intravascular Ultrasound, Fractional Flow Reserve, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, Impella, Anglo-Jet, Power Injector.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Associates degree or diploma from accredited radiologic technology/RCIS/RCES program
BLS certification is required.
ACLS certification is preferred, but the employee has one year to obtain the certification if the ACLS is a first-time endeavor.
Certification from the ARRT as an RT(R)(CVI), RT(R)(CI) or RT(R)(VI) and licensure by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist
Maintenance of 12 contact hours of education every year.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Knowledge of radiology and cardiovascular principles and practices including anatomy and physiology, radiation protection and physics, radiographic positioning and general nursing procedure.

Perform specimen tests of concrete from random loads or for special jobs or mixes; prepare test reports as required.
Oversee unique jobs to ensure product standards are met, i.e., jobs that have restrictive specifications or require large quantities of material to be delivered.
Perform aggregates and batch plants tests including daily graduation and moisture tests on all concrete being produced for State and spec projects.
Certify concrete loads being delivered to "spec" jobs in accordance with SHA specifications; check loads for proper procedure and time of mixing.
Perform quality assurance tests on trial batches of new concrete mix designs under close tolerance conditions and make adjustments until mixture meets specifications.
Troubleshoot problems with customers, analyze and evaluate specific conditions, situations, quantities, etc., and provide appropriate resolution.
Provide technical assistance and training to plant managers, equipment and yard operators, and drivers when requested.
Perform laboratory tests including gradation, moisture, lightweight particles and specific gravity tests on aggregates.
Select samples for materials that need certification by an outside laboratory or that are beyond the department capability. Transport these samples to the testing agency.

What YOU will do
* Assist Supplier Quality Engineers with review of supplier returns and related documentation.
* Support daily management of the MRB cage, including organization of items awaiting disposition.
* Perform stock sweeps and coordinate findings with engineering staff.
* Review First Article Inspection (FAI) reports for completeness and accuracy; escalate issues to engineers for resolution.
* Enter and maintain quality‑related data in SAP and other business systems.
* Provide administrative support for supplier quality initiatives, including preparation of reports, tracking of open actions, and maintenance of databases.
* Compile defect documentation and prepare visual aids to support MRB and supplier discussions.
What YOU must bring to Succeed
* High school diploma / GED required; associate degree in technical or business discipline preferred.
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing, quality, or technical support environment.
* Familiarity with aerospace quality standards (ISO9001 / AS9100) and supplier quality processes.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to support Supplier Quality Engineers with assessment of requirements and nonconforming conditions.
* Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and data entry.
* This position involves access to export-controlled technology which requires U.S. Person status or government authorization.
