Job Skills / Requirements
We are looking for a Quality Control Technician to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring mechanical products and parts are at Whip Mix standards to ensure customers receive quality products with on-time delivery.
What you'll be doing:
Performs inspection on incoming received/internal machined parts and tooling to determine conformance to specifications using all types of standard mechanical and computer setups. Records inspection results in a quality database and reports discrepancies per the Quality Inspection process. Ensures product quality and follows Quality Procedures to take appropriate action when non-conformances are identified.
Participates and provides support to Material Review Board activities. Partners and collaborates with other areas in the investigation of non-conforming parts to determine root causes, corrective actions, and limited dispositions following standard quality procedures.
Performs QC testing of chemical products and materials.
Performs complex first part/first article inspections using a variety of precision mechanical setups and fixtures to determine conformance to specifications and suitability for use.
Performs calibration of equipment, instruments, etc. Acts as a gatekeeper of calibration database to monitor, coordinate, update records to ensure timely completion of the calibration activities.
Acts as a gatekeeper of Preventive Maintenance (PM) database to monitor, coordinate, and update records to ensure timely completion of PM activities.
Works within the Quality Module of the ERP system to satisfy daily operations.
What you'll bring to the table:
High School Diploma or GED required.
3+ years of related experience
Experience in a regulatory manufacturing environment preferred, ISO 13485 standards is a plus.
ASQ (American Society for Quality, Certified Quality Technician or Calibration technician preferred.
Working knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance) and statistics.
Computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office products and ERP system required.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Statistical Process Control and Quality tools (DMAIC, Six Sigma, PDCA, Cpk., etc.).
Understands how to apply criteria in order to generate reports.
Able to determine part acceptability by performing mechanical and visual inspections with sound judgment.

Knowledge of dimensional measurement equipment commonly utilized in a machine shop and/or quality inspection and/or calibration department in a manufacturing environment, including fixed and variable gages, indicators, surface plate and associated measuring and fixture equipment, optical comparators, and coordinate measuring machines.
Knowledge of electronic measurements for calibrating electronic gages,

Willingness to learn and operate various inspection equipment including hand held devices

Quality Control Inspector Overview:

Quality Control Inspector Pay Range:
* $26-$32/hr
* Paid WEEKLY
Quality Control Inspector Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Inspect structural steel for plumb, level, and elevation per AISC Codes and Standards.
* Inspect welding and handling of welding materials for compliance with drawings and governing standards.
* Inspect bolted and/or riveted structural connections by fastening materials, faying surfaces, tension, etc.
* Assist in the inspection of materials received on the job site.
* Assist in the inspection of all phases of steel erection, equipment installation, etc.
* Perform on site internal audit to confirm, or establish compliance with AISC, AWS, and company QA/QC Manual.
* Ensures compliance of AISC and AWS Standards with company subcontractors.
* Work within guidelines provided in company QA/QC Manual and apply codes and standards offered by related governing bodies such as AISC and AWS.
* The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.
* Perform non-essential functions as needed.
Quality Control Inspector Qualifications:
* High School education or the equivalent is required.
* Minimum of two years' experience in construction industry and/or welding.
* Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) may be required. Must be proficient in reading and interpreting structural steel drawings.
* Must have excellent communication skills.
* You must be legally authorized to work in the United States for our company without the need for current or future visa sponsorship. Note: The company does not provide employment visa sponsorship.
Quality Control Inspector Physical Demands:
* Must be able to climb to heights more than 300 feet.
* Overtime and overnight travel are required.
* Must be able to lift to 100 pounds occasionally.
* Must be able to tolerate loud noises and temperature fluctuations.

Quality Technician / Quality Inspector

The Quality Technician supports the Quality Department by ensuring products and processes meet internal standards and customer expectations. This role performs audits, inspections, and documentation activities to maintain compliance with quality management systems and promote continuous improvement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform receiving and dock audits on finished goods and raw materials based on quality concerns or routine sampling.
Conduct process audits within the organization as requested.
Ensure FIFO and 5S procedures are followed throughout the department.
Perform in-process inspections to verify correct dimensions, material tolerances, and overall product quality.
Sort nonconforming products and report results to the Quality team.
Track daily scrap and submit reports to Quality leadership.
Recommend and help train temporary staff for sorting tasks as needed.
Immediately report any nonconformance issues.
Document and submit discrepancies to Quality leadership.
Assist with preparation, packaging, and labeling of trial shipments.
Contribute to internal and external audits as needed.
Perform all inspections and audits according to established procedures.
Qualifications Minimum Education & Experience
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
12 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to operate hand jacks, scales, and measuring equipment.
