JOB DESCRIPTION
Performs a variety of laboratory tasks under the supervision of a Scientist/Researcher.
The technician will use both standard procedures and adapted processes to support specific projects and routine operations, while collaborating with maintenance staff to ensure smooth equipment functioning.

Summary/Objective
The Quality Technician III, in support of and under the direction of the Quality Engineer and/or Manager, analyzes and solves complex quality problems, develops and optimizes CMM programs, prepares advanced inspection plans and instructions, selects and implements sampling plan applications, and prepares detailed procedures. The Quality Technician III is also responsible for training and mentoring inspectors, performing in-depth audits, analyzing quality data, and applying advanced statistical methods for process control. In addition, this role is distinguished by its focus on resolving more complex quality issues and providing technical expertise within the quality team.
Essential Functions

Proficiently program and operate CMM and provide instruction and training to other personnel on the proper use of CMM equipment.
Perform advanced non-destructive testing (NDT), including proficiency in magnetic particle testing and other NDT methods, ensuring product quality.
Maintain the instrument calibration system (e.g., Gagetrack), ensuring all instruments are calibrated, documented, and maintained according to established procedures.
Conduct evaluations and investigations of returned products, collecting necessary data to complete timely documentation and disposition in the RGA database.
Perform product inspections and testing to meet customer and RBS quality specifications, generating quality documents such as inspection reports, certificates of conformance, and material certification packets for customers.
Support the scrap/re-work process for discrepant products, ensuring proper documentation and corrective action implementation.
Conduct gage repeatability and reproducibility (GR&R) studies as necessary.
Support ISO Quality System requirements and assist in conducting process audits to ensure compliance.
Maintain the corrective action log and database, ensuring timely and accurate documentation of corrective actions.
Facilitate the movement of parts and components as required, utilizing appropriate mobility tools, including manual handling, carts, and powered lift trucks.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to company policies and safety regulations.
Any/all other duties as assigned.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds and seldom lifting to 75lbs. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle and/or adjust equipment. Moderate reaching, pushing, pulling, gripping, and grasping. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to safety glasses, and steel toed work boots or shoes.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, 1st shift position with a typical schedule of Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM (8 hours/day). Occasional overtime, evening, and weekend work may be required to meet business needs.
Compensation
Our current hiring pay range for this position is $25-$36.25. This hiring pay range is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some instances, may include education, work experience, knowledge, skills and certifications.
In addition to this base pay, Rockford Ball Screw employees are eligible for a bonus. Depending on your position you may be categorized into different tiers in the quarterly or annual bonus plan. Currently, this position is classified as a Quarterly Bonus within the Individual Contributor tier.

The Quality Test Technician II supports the team and activities relating to quality and process improvement for the manufacturing site in Sterling, Illinois. The role requires the ability to set up lab test equipment and conduct tests on parts using provided drawings and specifications in a timely manner. Test projects and schedules must be completed according to assigned schedules to meet due dates, necessitating effective multitasking to achieve multiple results simultaneously. This role works closely with Design Engineering, Quality, Production, and Materials to ensure items are manufactured in a timely manner and according to specifications. Key Responsibilities
Quality Inspection & Testing
This position is responsible for creating quality inspection plans and programs.
Follow and enhance current inspection plans to be utilized during receiving, in process, first article and final inspection.
Using work instructions, job traveler, blueprints, engineer drawings and specifications; inspects, checks, and tests materials, parts, components, and product during various stages of production including receiving and in-process inspections on floor.
Ensure gages used to validate product are properly maintained and calibrated.
Validate product post outside service processing to product and documentation conformity.
Work with plant personnel to ensure electrical testing is being performed correctly.
Process testing of AN's to current at the end of every week.
Training & Support
Train employees in the use of inspection plans and procedures.
Assist and train inspection and production personnel in Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing (GD&T) and gaging methodology.
Assist Quality Supervisor/Manager in programming test equipment including production test equipment.
Assist and provide back-up coverage duties of the Quality Supervisor/Manager and Quality Auditors during vacation or other periods of absenteeism.
Coordination & Communication
Interacts with engineering, inspection, and production personnel to ensure products, components, parts, and material conform to customer, supplier, and regulatory requirements.
Provide customers with return authorization, as needed, and coordinate with customer service on processing of credit memos.

Summary/Objective
The Quality Technician II, in support of and under the direction of the Quality Engineer and/or Manager, analyzes and solves quality problems, develops CMM programs, prepares inspection plans and instructions, selects sampling plan applications, prepares procedures, trains inspectors, performs audits, analyzes quality data, and applies fundamental statistical methods for process control.

We're recruiting Quality Technicians with flexible availability to work a rotating 2/2/3 schedule. This full-time role is essential to ensuring that all products meet strict food safety and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities of the Quality Technician:
Perform food quality checks in the lab including pH, moisture, salt content, and viscosities using a Boswick meter
Conduct appearance, flavor, aroma, texture, and mouthfeel testing
Use the NCI chart and Colorimeter to measure color variation
Perform seamer checks with CCTV Monitor for packaging quality (height, body hook, overlap, tightness, countersink)
Conduct drain weight checks and ATC testing before production runs
Execute floor quality checks to ensure compliance throughout operations
Verify production paperwork and charts are completed correctly
Communicate with Production Supervisors/Staff regarding GMP and policy violations
Confirm label, case code, sticker, and pallet pattern accuracy
Monitor x-ray and tap tone systems for safety and compliance
Inspect package pressure/vacuum and measure headspace/pull-up using rulers
Order and verify Gold Standard samples
Generate NCPs and place non-conforming product on hold with QC status in Ross Syste
Perform cleanliness and equipment pre-op inspections
Quality Technician Requirements and Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required (experience may be accepted in lieu of education)
Prior quality experience in the beverage or manufacturing industry (highly preferred)
Ability to handle high-demand situations and multitask effectively
Strong math and computer skills
Fluent in written and verbal English
Must be available to work any shift for initial 3-week training

Job Description
The Testing Quality Technician supports the team and activities relating to quality and process improvement for the manufacturing site in Sterling, Illinois. The role requires the ability to set up lab test equipment and conduct tests on parts using provided drawings and specifications in a timely manner. Test projects and schedules must be completed according to assigned schedules to meet due dates, necessitating effective multitasking to achieve multiple results simultaneously. Progress reports and test results should be continuously maintained in a format that is clear to the recipient and approved by the QA Supervisor or Coordinator.
This role works closely with Design Engineering, Quality, Production, and Materials to ensure items are manufactured in a timely manner and according to specifications. This position functions independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team. Additionally, the technician works in an office and manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels and typical manufacturing conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Inspection & Testing
This position is responsible for creating quality inspection plans and programs.
Follow and enhance current inspection plans to be utilized during receiving, in process, first article and final inspection.
Using work instructions, job traveler, blueprints, engineer drawings and specifications; inspects, checks, and tests materials, parts, components, and product during various stages of production including receiving and in-process inspections on floor.
Ensure gages used to validate product are properly maintained and calibrated.
Validate product post outside service processing to product and documentation conformity.
Work with plant personnel to ensure electrical testing is being performed correctly.
Process testing of AN's to current at the end of every week.
Training & Support
Train employees in the use of inspection plans and procedures.
Assist and train inspection and production personnel in Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing (GD&T) and gaging methodology.
Assist Quality Supervisor/Manager in programming test equipment including production test equipment.
Assist and provide back-up coverage duties of the Quality Supervisor/Manager and Quality Auditors during vacation or other periods of absenteeism.
Coordination & Communication
Interacts with engineering, inspection, and production personnel to ensure products, components, parts, and material conform to customer, supplier, and regulatory requirements.
Provide customers with return authorization, as needed, and coordinate with customer service on processing of credit memos.
Keep management informed of job-related problems and other information related to work activity.
Participate in other quality department activities including internal audits or production auditor substitution.
Quality Management & Process Improvement
Assist in maintaining quality management system.
Review existing inspection plans for effectiveness.
Assist with Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) activities.
Assist in the disposition and documentation of non-conforming material and the implementation of corrective action.
Test returned materials (RMA) and process results through ERP on a weekly schedule and identity root cause for RMA returns and develop actions to prevent future occurrences.
Assist in the coordination and execution of process validation activities, including statistical data collection and analysis utilizing capability and gage R & R studies.
Manage calibration system.
Improve safety by investigating, suggesting, and implementing fixtures or other apparatus to prevent accidental electrical shock or other injuries.
Assist in troubleshooting product processes.
