Our client is seeking a hands-on Lab Technician to support the engineering team with soldering, PCB rework, and lab operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys detailed, technical work and can manage multiple tasks in a dynamic lab environment. The position will be part-time (20 hours per week) onsite in Chandler, AZ, with potential for extension based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Perform soldering and PCB rework, with emphasis on QFN package rework.
Create and organize kits, box parts, and prepare materials for internal lab use.
Manage and track shipments (internal movement, not direct shipping).
Track and coordinate calibration equipment (pickups, deliveries, and status tracking).
Maintain basic Excel spreadsheets for inventory, calibration, and shipment tracking.
Support general lab organization, equipment maintenance, and process documentation.
Required Qualifications
1-3 years of hands-on lab or soldering/ assembly experience.
Soldering skills, especially with small components (e.g., 0204s).
Some understanding of QFN rework experience or demonstrated ability to handle fine-pitch soldering.
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Excel for basic data entry and tracking shipment

SUMMARY

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The Quality ControlTechnician reports to the Quality Control Manager.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Mechanical/ plastic welding and metal welding performing inspections and tests on products or materials to ensure quality standards are met.
Perform inspections and quality control assessments on welding and fabrication processes.
Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards, including AWS, ASME,DVS and OSHA regulations.
Interpret and review blueprints, schematics, and specifications to verify project requirements.
Ensure projects meet stringent quality and safety standards, overseeing welding processes and ensuring adherence to codes and specifications.
Document inspection results and maintain accurate records, including weld log, welder test, pressure test, material receiving and other mechanical inspection reports.
Communicate findings and collaborate with the project team to resolve quality issues.

POSITION PURPOSE
Under general supervision, to inspect produce upon arrival at the Distribution Center and
existing produce for quality; accepts or rejects produce that does not meet quality and other
standards. Employees in this job classification provide quality control support to management,
vendors, stores and the Distribution Center. This job classification requires knowledge of the
products, procurement practices and methods and the ability to select and provide produce to
customers that meet the company's budgetary and quality requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
1. *Performs a physical inspection of all produce received at the Distribution Center prior
to product acceptance. Inspects for company standards in quality, size and condition.
2. *Approves produce delivery when standards are met. Rejects produce when standards
are not met and informs appropriate staff and vendor. Obtains buyer approval in some
situations.
3. *Performs a physical inspection and monitors warehoused produce for quality, shelf
life and possible rotation problems. Notifies appropriate staff and vendors for
resolution.
4. *Trains new employees in the Distribution Center on produce acceptance standards
prior to receiving products from vendors and others.
5. *Coordinates orders with the produce buying team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND
EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or G.E.D and a minimum of three or
more (3+) years' experience in a retail produce department.
REQUIRED
KNOWLEDGE:
• Knowledge of local, state and federal laws and
regulations, such as FDA and Health.
