ABOUT THE ROLE As a Compounder, you'll play a critical role in preparing high-quality products by blending raw ingredients in accordance with detailed recipes and safety protocols. This hands-on position is essential to maintaining consistent product quality and ensuring customer satisfaction in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment. You'll work closely with other operators, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to ensure batching is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and thrives in an environment that requires precision, consistency, and compliance with food safety standards. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING * Prepare and blend ingredients according to exact formulas and batch specifications * Verify and document ingredient types, quantities, lot numbers, and supplier names * Operate batching systems, pumps (PD, Wilden), flow panels, valves, and mixing tanks * Complete product and batch paperwork, including traceability logs, CCPs, and batch cards * Submit samples to Quality Assurance and adjust batches per lab analysis when needed * Follow allergen control policies and prevent cross-contamination during batching and changeovers * Accurately follow lockout/tagout procedures during equipment maintenance or sanitation * Disassemble, clean, sanitize, and reassemble equipment using proper tools and chemicals * Support shift-to-shift communication to maintain consistency across operations * Identify and report equipment issues or safety concerns to leadership promptly * Maintain clean and organized batching areas using Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) * Work in chill (35°F), freezer (-5°F), or humid environments as needed * Perform other related duties to support a 24/7 production schedule * Stand, walk, bend, and lift for 7+ hours per shift * Lift up to 100 lbs. repeatedly; carry up to 50 lbs. up stairs or across distances * Work around moving machinery, in damp or humid conditions, and in temperature-controlled areas * Wear PPE including safety glasses, gloves, bump cap, and full-face respirator when required * Exposure to cleaning chemicals, food allergens, and high noise levels (hearing protection provided) WHAT YOU'LL NEED Education & Experience: * High school diploma or GED required * Minimum 3 months of experience in a food manufacturing or industrial environment (preferred) * Prior batching, processing, or machine operation experience highly desirable Certifications (Required or Willing to Obtain): * Forklift operation certification (within 30 days of hire) * Respirator certification (must be clean-shaven to wear full-face respirator) Skills & Abilities: * Ability to read and interpret batch cards, formulas, safety procedures, and product specs * Strong math and measurement skills (weights, volumes, ratios) * Attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy * Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and adjust basic equipment * Ability to lift 50-100 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks repeatedly * Comfortable working in environments that are wet, cold, hot, noisy, or contain food allergens * Strong safety mindset and teamwork orientation WHAT YOU"LL GET * People First: At GSF, we're not just a company; we're a dynamic community where your talents are celebrated, and your ambitions are nurtured. * Values Driven: Our core values drive everything we do, creating a culture of innovation, integrity, and excellence.
