ABOUT THE JOB

QCD is a dynamic, growing company servicing iconic brands and is seeking a General Manager (GM) with strong warehousing and transportation logistics experience within a distribution environment.
The General Manager plans, directs, and coordinates all warehouse, and distribution activities of a distribution center, reporting to the Sr. Operations Director ensure Customers' stores obtain required products in a timely manner and in accordance with high standards of customer satisfaction. This location supports two main customers serving several hundred QSR's.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
* Communicates and coordinates with customers regarding service levels, costs, and other needs to ensure high quality customer service and to enhance QCD/GSF's reputation. (20%)
* Manages assigned staff, including recruiting and selecting employees, assigning work, providing training and development, evaluating performance, and building a motivated, effective team to ensure that organizational goals for diversity, career development, productivity, performance management and employee involvement are met. (20%)
* Plans, directs, and organizes all phases of product distribution to ensure adequate, timely, and accurate delivery of quality products to Customers' stores. (15%)
* Directs various financial activities, including budget preparation, business plans, quarterly financial and operations presentations, annual re-costing meetings, equipment lease negotiations, and major capital purchases, interacting with customers and management to meet or exceed established performance and profitability objectives. (15%)
* Develops and implements distribution center policies and procedures (human resources, administrative, safety, regulatory compliance, etc.) to ensure consistency with company-wide policies and to meet established objectives for customer service, safety, and performance. (10%)
* Directs and coordinates through subordinate management the allocation of facilities, equipment, and staff to optimize the use of company resources and to meet or exceed established performance, profitability, and safety standards and objectives. (10%)
* Reviews and analyzes inventory practices and procedures and surplus stock to develop improved inventory control methods. (5%)
* Directs and implements policies and procedures to ensure better-than-industry average safety. (5%)
* Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university preferred
Supply chain and logistics management education a plus.
Experience:
* 7+ years minimum of relevant work experience in a distribution center with experience in all facets of the operation.
* Food distribution experience preferred
* Strong knowledge of transportation management for in-house drivers required
* Strong customer relationship building experience.

Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance

* Work with PLCs, motor circuits, pneumatic/hydraulic systems, and electrical controls

* Maintain detailed records of repairs and completed work orders

About the role - CDL Class B Driver (Templeton, MA)
We are excited to announce an opportunity at Orica for a CDL Class B Driver within our Orica USA Commercial team.
This role will be responsible for driving and operating Orica's bulk trucks (Mobile Manufacturing Units) and installing blasting products for our customers at local construction sites, mines, and quarries as well as being accountable for the upkeep and maintenance of the equipment.
This is a hybrid role that consists of approximately 40% driving and 60% physical work related to the installation of blasting products. Responsibilities include loading products, driving a Class B CDL truck, pulling hoses, operating manufacturing units control systems, and climbing on and off the bulk truck in various weather conditions.
Additionally, this role will operate equipment to provide blasting products while assisting in delivering a high-quality service of bulk explosives to customers. We prioritize safety and strive to ensure that all operations are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner at all times.
Work schedule
Monday thru Friday
Local driving (1-3 hours)
Early morning starts at approx. 3 AM - 5 AM
10-12 hours per day, approx.
Overtime may be needed
Up to 10% overnight travel may be required
What you will be doing
This is a blended role that consists of 40% driving and 60% physical work
Pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicles, including checking and filling fluid levels
Ability to safely hook up and unhook trailers
Drives emulsion tanker trucks and box trucks
Ensure raw materials and dangerous goods are used, handled, and stored according to requirements
Ensure minimum damage to the environment through waste minimization and control
Report all unusual incidents and accidents immediately
Participate in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings
What you will bring
At least one year of experience driving and/or handling materials preferred
Knowledgeable of DOT regulations required
Ability to communicate and work in a team environment
Good attention to detail and math skills to handle inventory daily
Ability to prioritize various projects, ongoing daily tasks, and high-priority situations to maximize efficiency
Physical requirements
The work environment involves being outside in all types of weather
Lifting up to 60 pounds and carrying 50 pounds or more of product or other materials
Must be able to load product, pull large hoses, fill holes, and climb on/off the truck
Shoveling gravel to fill drilled holes consistently throughout the day
Pushing/pulling in working with equipment
Other activities include frequent bending and squatting

Requires Class B CDL; Class A is a plus
Tanker endorsement preferred
Hazmat endorsement preferred

Program Summary
The Maintenance Technician Development Program is geared towards individuals who want to gain the skills needed to receive their Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) licenses. The program requires enrollment in a FAR 147 certified program and offers mentorship and a defined path towards certification and starting a career with Horizon Air/Alaska Airlines.
If accepted into the program, the individual signs an agreement to work for Horizon Air/Alaska Airlines for a minimum of 30 months. Upon completing the FAR 147 requirements and obtaining their A&P license participants will become a Horizon Air Technician.
Key Duties
Currently enrolled and in good standing with an approved A&P school.
Quarterly check-ins with assigned mentor/leader.
Maintain effective communication with the company on curriculum progress.
Commit to work for Horizon Air/Alaska Airlines for 2.5 years post program completion and sign an agreement confirming this requirement.
Program Specific Experience, Education and Skills
Required:
Current enrollment in a certified FAR 147 FAA Airframe and Powerplant Program.
Ability to obtain and maintain A&P License within 90 days of graduation.
Ability and willingness to obtain a current valid passport allowing unrestricted travel, without a Temporary Resident Permit (TRP), to and from the U.S.
Ability and willingness to enter and exit Canada without restrictions and without requiring a Temporary Resident Permit (TRP) in order to complete maintenance work.
Ability to obtain and maintain airport AOA badge.
Possess excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
Ability and willingness to consistently lift 70 lbs. and bend, stoop, squat, reach and grasp.
Ability and willingness to operate various types of ground support equipment, including movable turboways, forklifts, tow tractors, elevated boom lifts, and hoists.
Ability and willingness to work on elevated surfaces by utilizing stands, climbing ladders or other suitable equipment to access aircraft surfaces at elevation.
Ability to adapt to performing work according to set procedures.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Detail oriented and highly organized.
Valid driver's license.
Ability and willingness to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
