Quality Assurance Manager
Summary: The Project Quality Lead will be responsible for setting team Expectations, establishing the Quality Management System as the system for executing larger projects, gaining team approvals, and communicating quality expectations to project team and contracted partners, review and approval of request for quotes, contracting language, final quality plans to meet those expectations, and coordinating shop inspections plans well into field execution, with field verification of work from contractor quality control. Quality Assurance may have contracted team-based direct reports through phases of this term.
Job Duties
Quality System Leadership:
Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Management System aligned with corporate standards and project-specific requirements.
Set clear quality expectations for internal teams and external contractors.
Ensure quality processes are integrated into project execution plans.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Facilitate quality-related discussions with project leadership, engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
Gain team buy-in and approvals for quality plans and procedures.
Communicate quality requirements and expectations to all project stakeholders.
Contracting & Procurement Support:
Review and approve Requests for Quotation (RFQs), technical specifications, and quality-related contract language.
Ensure supplier and contractor quality plans meet project standards and regulatory requirements.
Inspection & Verification:
Coordinate shop inspection programs and ensure alignment with field execution plans.
Oversee field verification activities and ensure contractor quality control is effective and compliant.
Manage non-conformance reporting and resolution processes.
Team Management:
Lead and mentor contracted quality assurance and control personnel.
Support onboarding and training of quality team members.
Monitor performance and ensure alignment with project goals.
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, and quality metrics.
Provide regular quality performance reports to project leadership.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned documentation.
Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
High School diploma required.
Experience:
Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in quality assurance/quality control on large-scale industrial or energy infrastructure projects.
Prior experience with LNG, petrochemical, or oil & gas projects strongly preferred.
Proven track record in managing quality systems and teams across multi-phase projects.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and other applicable quality standards.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

This is a full-time on-site, salaried role for a Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) Manager located in Orange, TX. The QA/QC Manager will report directly to the General Manager and will lead a small team of inspectors and will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality of all shipyard projects. Daily responsibilities include conducting visual weld inspections, verifying fabricated modules for proper fit-up per project drawings and specifications, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The role will also conduct air and hydro testing, assist with third-party NDI, and ensure welding equipment and tools meet certification standards. The QA/QC Manager will implement company QA/QC procedures, manage audits and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and work directly with regulatory agents and customer representatives to ensure fabrication, testing, and commissioning are completed in compliance with USCG, ABS, and customer specifications. Additional duties include creating and maintaining inspection documentation, training staff on quality assurance processes, and collaborating across departments to achieve quality objectives.

Develop deliverables to document required operating and design conditions for piping, instrumentation, and equipment (e.g., line lists and instrumentation datasheets).
Supports process hazard analyses (PHA) as a participant and assists in resolving action items.
Performs hydraulic calculations for piping systems using various modeling tools and software.
Review vendor drawings to ensure that process technical requirements are met.
Communicates regularly with the project team and Burrow Global's clients to convey technical information, identify problems, and develop solutions that achieve project objectives promptly.
Provides support through detailed engineering to provide continuity, assess the impact of proposed changes, and support quality assurance/control for the project.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
The candidate should have a BSc in chemical engineering from an accredited university and 2+ relevant years of experience.
The candidate must thoroughly understand chemical engineering principles, including heat and mass transfer, thermodynamics, transport phenomena, fluid flow, and hydraulics.
The candidate must have excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills and be able to develop and execute a plan to identify and solve technical problems.
The candidate must have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to convey technical concepts clearly and concisely to a wide variety of audiences.

Operational Excellence Engineer
As an Operational Excellence Engineer you will be responsible for driving operational excellence to deliver year-over-year improvements in cost and productivity. The Opportunity
The Eng II, Process Engineer is a position in the Technical Department supporting the Evadale Mill operations within the Mill Operations segment located in Evadale TX. The position reports directly to the Manager, Technical for the facility. The Eng II, Process Engineer will provide process optimization working directly with mill operations in driving projects for safety/environmental, quality, production efficiency, cost reduction. The position is also expected to support the Performance Excellence effort at the Smurfit Westrock Evadale TX Mill. In this regard the role requires skills/experience in continuous improvement and problem-solving processes like RCA, Lean-Six Sigma Tools and Methodology to improve mill performance. The individual will be assigned to lead or facilitate significant improvement projects within the Texas facilities or joint projects requiring collaboration with other business functions.
The role will typically have an operations area focus to support the KPIs for that given area but will also be engaged to participate and lead cross department and even cross division projects as assigned. The position is expected to mentor entry level engineers and participate in operator training as needed.
Project Management experience is required and the capability to span location-wide issues related to process and policy changes is important.
This position can be utilized as a developmental role to prepare the individual to move into roles of greater responsibility. Several advancement paths can be considered based upon the company needs and individual's experience and performance. The position will require intermittent travel (< 10% anticipated) to support the mill, Consumer Solutions, or Smurfit WestRock Performance Excellence efforts.

What You Need To Succeed
