Role Description
Form Energy is looking for motivated Manufacturing Engineers passionate about deploying and scaling manufacturing systems. This is an exciting opportunity to design and build a new class of battery manufacturing. In this role, you will conceptualize, design, deploy and ramp various manufacturing stations & lines.
This work will include participating in hands-on trial builds, setting up workstations and training technicians at new production facilities. You'll work with design engineers, supply chain, operations, safety, facilities, assemblers, and a host of other teams and outside suppliers and consultants. As we manufacture our products for the first time, expect a slew of surprise issues that will need rapid root cause investigation and resolution demanding critical thinking, persistence, and collaboration. This opportunity is based out of Form Factory 1 - Form Energy's 550,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located in Weirton, WV, a commutable distance from Pittsburgh. What you'll do:
Own the build, purchase, and/or deployment of manufacturing workstations and equipment ranging from initial manual benchtop stations to highly automated systems.
Design and deploy manufacturing equipment from concept to hand over to operations.
Partner with the product design team to drive Design For Manufacturing (DFM) considerations
Design and document robust processes/standard operating procedures capable of a high level of safety, uptime, and quality using engineering techniques and fundamentals
Assist in the debug and resolution of time-sensitive issues with manufacturing equipment and processes as they arise
Train individuals on new manufacturing equipment and processes
Work with a diversity of teams inside and outside the company to achieve overall manufacturing success
What you'll bring:

This position is responsible for developing and sustaining semiconductor wafer fab production processes. As Responsibilities include statistical process control (SPC) of production processes, process documentation, writing and updating work instructions and conducting experiments to invent or improve fabrication processes.
Essential Job Functions
* Sustaining Engineering: use of statistical software tools to monitor process performance; monitoring equipment performance metrics; diagnosing and corrective action of process excursions. Good communication with production staff to understand production problems. Attain a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Labtrax Manufacturing Execution System (MES). • Process Development Engineering: Develop new processes as needed to support new product releases; continuous improvement of existing processes to improve yield or device improvement; documentation of new work instructions; developing and implementing process controls and training production staff to execute new processes.
* Process equipment ownership: Learn and understand operating principles of process equipment; communicate with Equipment Maintenance staff about equipment issues, status and repairs; assist in troubleshooting of equipment; author work instruction for the safe operation of equipment; work with Equipment team to set up Preventative Maintenance (PM) procedures; address any issues that arise during weekly equipment qualifications.
* Process area ownership: Assure assigned areas are safe, organized and tidy; Document and monitor area start-up and shut-down procedures; communicate with Production and Engineering management regarding any problems that arise.
* Teamwork: Participate in engineering discussions, assist other process engineers in cross-area projects; provide periodic updates on engineering projects and production performance.

Experience:
This is an entry level position. Previous semiconductor process experience is desirable but not required.
Education:
A minimum of bachelor's in science degree in Science or Engineering. A combination or education and work experience. May considered to fulfill minimum educational requirements
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
* General knowledge of semiconductor fab tools and processes is a plus
* Statistical Data Analysis. • Statistical Process Control (SPC).
* Knowledge Semiconductor device physics, especially optoelectronic devices.
* Exposure to 1 or more some of the following software/programming languages: SQL, Visual Basic, Matlab, JMP and Microsoft Office.
