You will ensure product integrity in manufacturing output and continuous improvements working with labs and factory operations.
Our team develops new or modified processes, defines process equipment requirements and specifications, and reviews processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluation of Ring Laser Gyroscope and MEMS based inertial sensors and IMUs. You will influence the planning and designing of manufacturing engineering processes. You will determine parts and tools needed by the team to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification, for both existing and new processes/product technologies. You will maximize efficiency by analyzing the layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Support daily production activities and drive producibility improvement projects in a challenging environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide test and manufacturing support for RLG and MEMS based inertial measurement units (IMUs).
• Perform yield and performance data analysis to monitor process capability and product health trends.
• Utilize CAMP, Lean, and DMAIC Six-Sigma methodologies to govern engineering standard work practices.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues, facilitate issue identification and analysis.
• Develop improvements in product design and in the manufacturing and assembly processes for cost and cycle time reductions.
• Assist development of new products.
• Support knowledge for test equipment and preventative maintenance plans to maintain factory capacity and efficient product flow.
• Facilitate a self-driven work force culture to achieve RTY, BIQ, COPQ, and other SQDIC goals.

The annual base salary range for this position is $93,600 - $109,600. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Hartzell is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to support all aspects of manufacturing at AMI and AWI. This Manufacturing Engineer will also support quality engineering functions when required to aid in new product introduction.

1) Estimate time costs for manufacturing.
