Responsibilities
* Supports the Government Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) on the site daily.
* Responsible for site safety, permit compliance and coordination with other adjacent projects.
* Monitoring Contractor performance, scheduling, effectiveness and quality control.
* Manage inspection and office staff. Responsible for record keeping, correspondence, compiling and delivering of required reports. Chair various project meetings, record and distribute meeting minutes.
* Reviews completed work of QA representatives/Con-reps for technical soundness, compliance to contract terms, adherence to schedules, and compliance to safety standards.
* Review and approve daily inspection reports and payment quantities in accordance with requirements.
* Prepare Change Orders for overruns, changed conditions and additional work for the COR as required.
* Log and Coordinate with the designer to respond to Contractors submittals, RFI's and shop drawings
* Ensure all work including design complies with CBP Tactical Infrastructure Design Standards.
* Responsible for successful project execution including management of scope, schedule, budget, risk and contractor performance
* Responsible for ensuring timely elevation of project issues to the COR for resolution
* Identifies, evaluates, and mitigates risks, issues, and opportunities for construction efforts
* Serves as the project expert and spokesperson for the project(s) with responsibility to present, explain, and defend program management issues and directions to higher-level official in CBP,
* DHS, and other government agencies and interested public groups
* Collaborates with the other CBP projects, Business Management, key stakeholders, and other offices throughout the construction efforts
* Supports project related outreach efforts as required
Qualifications
* Experience in one or more of the following areas:
* Construction management
* Infrastructure maintenance and or repair experience
* Civil/site design experience
* 10+ years of experience and a Master's degree in architecture, engineering, business, management, or finance; or, 12+ years and a Bachelor's degree, or 15+years in lieu of degree preferred.
* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
* Experience in managing similar construction projects in size and scope.
* Professional Engineering (PE), Engineering Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT) or registered architect (AIA) is a plus.

Overview:
The Lead will manage the daily activities of his/her area including ownership of the results, coaching the temporary employees, interfacing with other departments and meeting production goals. One of the expectations of this position is that the candidate will be trained and will train others to work in all functional areas of the departments including but not limited to Receiving, Pre-Grade, Packing, Shipping and WIP Room.

Coordinate grade activities and people to assure the Pre-grade fruit quality meets standards
Interprets company policies and procedures to team members, works with team members to resolve job problems
Ensure team members are trained in the safe and efficient operation of equipment in their area.
Coach and inspire each member of their area to achieve a higher level of performance. Be a good role model in the dept.

Qualifications

General Responsibilities: Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel). Communicate with project manager, engineering technicians, client representative, contractor's representative and others as applicable regarding the construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results. Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis. Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observation in the form of written and digital reports as work is performed for daily transmittal to the Terracon Project Manager. Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles and work areas. May assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites. Adhere to strict safety standards.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
* Under close supervision of higher level technicians or staff professionals, assist on tasks and perform basic testing and observations duties.
* Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
* Communicates information to Project Manager and discusses accuracy of data in preparation for submittal.
* Submits documentation and communicates results as directed by the Project Manager
* Will be placed in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility in work assignments.
* Maintains assigned equipment.
* Drive a vehicle such as a Ford F-150 or equivalent.
* Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Perform pre-task planning prior to executing work. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
* Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* 6 months experience required.
* Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
Preferred Certification:
* Obtain Nuclear Density Gauge certification within 6 months of hire.
Required Certification:
* Obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire.
* Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
