Winnebago Industries, Inc. has an immediate need for an experienced candidate to fill a Quality Control position. This position will be based in Middlebury, Indiana. Responsibilities Inspection of both inside and outside of the unit, for any electrical, functional, or fit and finish defects and ensure trailers meet RVIA and Winnebago quality standards. Examine installation of mechanical equipment, plumbing lines and tanks, and brackets in subassemblies and trailer structures to verify location and fastening. Responsible for performing required system tests outlined by NFPA 1192 Identify surface defects, such as scratches and cracks. Verify that all graphics are installed and in correct location. Examine installation of wall coverings and upholstery to verify color, quality, and fit of material. Write inspection reports. Assist to resolve day-to-day inspection problems having to do with inspection methods and devices utilized. Correction of deviations and malfunctions. Verify acceptable quality and communicate reasons for rejects and malfunctions. Test mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems for functionality, weigh/tag units. Winterize units when required. Communicate with Group Leaders regarding quality of units. Complete any necessary paperwork and close out units when complete. Any other duties as assigned to promote corporate goals. Knowledge & skills High School Diploma Prior RV QC experience preferred Able to use Basic Hand Tools Strong Verbal Communication Skills Must have strong organization and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, while maintaining individual goals. Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and priorities. Physical Demands Ability to stand in one place for long periods of time. Ability to climb up and down ladders/stair steps repeatedly, and bend Use of hand and arms to reach, grasp, and manipulate objects. Lift objects up to 25 pounds occasionally. Ability to work on a computer monitor for short periods of time. Regular attendance is required and is essential for this position. Visually compare product against one another to assess/detect manufacturing variations in processes. Provide technical support for production. Responsible for declaring any non-conformities relating to the product, process, and quality system. Responsible for performing daily process and product audits and supporting immediate corrections to non-conformances that can be corrected on the spot. Reports/Records quality problems or findings to shift process tech and follows up with quality forms to ensure that corrective action has/will take place. If there is a problem and product does not meet specification, work with process tech to figure out the root cause. Sort, rework product from containment area as required, confirming rework. Oversee assigned presses, assist operators on part visual acceptability and process procedures as required. Relieve operators during break periods if needed.
