QC Stamping inspectors also provide general “Quality” training, support and guidance to Stamping Department Personnel ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Gather samples from each stamping press twice per shift, performs visual and dimensional inspection, recording dimensional results in Mongoose (stamping inspection system of record) as well as on the Stamping Inspection Shift Report (excel file) Conduct proper defect containment, inform the Press Operators of any defects identified, as well as Set-Up personnel, Toolmakers, Tooling Engineer and/or Stamping Dept. Manager as applicable. Record all results on Stamping Inspection Report Maintain “Start-Up Retains Bank” located in the Toolmaker work area. As startups are approved, one raw and one anodized sample from the Start-up will be marked with the approval date and placed in the appropriate bin to be referenced on future start ups At the beginning of each shift Stamping Q.C. Inspectors will review each press and ensure correct labels, gauge plan, part drawing and correct skid tags are being used Keep Department QC Stations and/or QC Work Areas orderly at all times. Double check to make sure proper prints, gauging and inspection plans are at each press and in the QC areas as assigned. In fact, over 80% of New Haven homes are likely to contain lead. When exposed to lead, children or adults can have permanent and severe health problems. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS This is a technical position under the general supervision of the Environmental Health Program Director or designee in the Department of Health to perform investigations, education, and outreach for the prevention of childhood lead poisoning. Work includes inspections for the purpose of determining the presence of lead-based paint and surface coverings and lead in soil, dust and drinking water. Work is performed within the framework of existing laws, ordinances, policies, and regulations. Summary: As the Quality Control Inspector Level 2, you perform in-process and final inspections of electronic and mechanical assemblies, components, and systems to ensure compliance with North Atlantic Industries' quality standards and customer requirements. Your work directly supports product reliability, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of mission-critical electronics. Requirements * Inspect PCB assemblies, mechanical assemblies, and subassemblies for conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards. * Perform in-process, first-article, and final inspections using microscopes, measurement tools, mechanical gauges, and electronic test equipment. * Document inspection results, nonconformances, and corrective actions clearly and accurately in NAI's quality management system. * Verify proper soldering quality, component placement, workmanship, and mechanical fitment to meet NAI's aerospace and defense industry requirements. * Inspect machined parts, enclosures, for dimensional accuracy and proper assembly. * Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to resolve technical issues and support continuous improvement initiatives. * Review and validate production documentation, including travelers, drawings, and work instructions, for completeness and accuracy. * Ensure ESD procedures, inspection protocols, and safety standards are strictly followed throughout the production environment. * Support root-cause analysis and assist with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) as required. * Candidates must be a U.S. Person, defined as either a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder), and must be able to provide appropriate documentation upon hire to verify this status. Qualifications and Education Requirements: * High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training in electronics or mechanical technology preferred. * 4+ years of experience in quality inspection within the electronics, electromechanical, aerospace, or defense manufacturing industries. * Strong understanding of electronic components, PCB assembly processes, mechanical assemblies, and soldering principles. * Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and mechanical blueprints. * Proficiency with inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, microscopes, height gauges, multimeters, and continuity testers. Preferred Skills and Abilities: * IPC-A-610 or IPC-A-620 certification. * Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality system requirements. * Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects in electronic and mechanical assemblies. * Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. * Strong organizational and documentation abilities.
