Full-time Description The Quality Control Technician I plays a key role in maintaining American Phoenix, Inc.'s reputation for excellence in rubber manufacturing. This position is responsible for performing precise tests on rubber compounds using specialized laboratory equipment to ensure product integrity and compliance with customer specifications. Accuracy and attention to detail are critical to maintaining our quality standards. This position reports to our Quality Manager. Summary of Duties and Responsibilities Follow all company and laboratory safety procedures at all times. Maintain a neat, organized, and clean work area. Perform testing of rubber compounds in accordance with customer and internal specifications. Analyze and interpret test data to assist in determining material release status. Prepare rubber samples as needed (cutting, milling, curing, and stamping). Troubleshoot issues such as test failures, retesting, or data discrepancies. Enter test results accurately into data systems and complete customer data packets. Tag and release finished goods after testing and approval. **Quality Inspector/CWI - 1st Shift** Full Time Regular Eau Claire, Wausau, WI, US Salary Range:$32.00 To $46.00 Hourly **We are looking for 1st shift availability. Shift hours are Monday through Thursday 430am to 430pm.** - Coordinate between production and DOT Inspectors to ensure DOT witnessing of production operations and QC hold points are being completed. - Perform visual inspection of material as required. - Perform layout checks as needed. - Perform rotational capacity tests on bolts prior to use in shop. - Work with outside inspectors to resolve quality issues on the floor. - Monitor welder qualification tests. - Monitor and record welding parameters to insure compliance to approved WPS. - Be able to read and understand the Welding code and Specifications. - Perform Dimensional checks on lay downs and shop assemblies. Quality Control Technicians are crucial in ensuring product safety and quality by performing and communicating necessary quality tests and analyses. This role involves conducting sampling, inspection, and testing of incoming materials, in-line samples, finished products, water, and the environment to ensure they meet established quality standards. The position supports other quality functions to achieve plant objectives and involves shipping external samples, conducting physical, sensory, and ingredient testing, and using lab instrumentation such as XRF machines, FTIR, pH meters, and conductivity meters. Responsibilities * Conduct sampling, inspection, and testing of materials, in-line samples, and finished products. * Perform water and environmental assessments for quality conformance. * Support other quality functions to meet plant objectives. * Ship external samples efficiently. * Conduct physical, sensory, and ingredient testing in-house. * Operate lab instrumentation, including XRF machines, FTIR, pH meters, and conductivity meters. * Utilize sieve shakers to assess product purity. Essential Skills * Experience in food manufacturing. * Proficiency in quality control and quality assurance processes. * Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). * Understanding of Chemistry, Biology, and Microbiology. * Experience with laboratory equipment and physical lab testing (e.g., pH meter, XRF, FTIR). Additional Skills & Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related Life Science degree. * Or a high school diploma with over 3 years of quality assurance or lab experience, ideally in a food manufacturing company. * Reliable and proficient in basic testing procedures. * Interest in expanding testing capabilities and knowledge of ICP mineral testing and microbiology.
