Under Quality supervision, evaluates materials and products to ensure conformance to drawing requirements, procurement specifications and approved procedures. Evaluations include dimensional, functional, cosmetic and documentation as required per applicable inspection plan. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Perform Quality Control inspections, as required per ATEC procedures * Read, understand, and interpret engineering (blueprint) drawings and associated GD&T (Geometric Dimension & Tolerances) * Perform mechanical, visual and functional inspection. Utilization of Micro-Vu or similar lighting inspection systems preferred * Engage with respective department members to maintain best inspection practices, foster a cooperative work environment, propose improvements when inefficiencies are observed * Generate, complete, and maintain quality documentation such as inspection records, non-conformance reports, deviation, and scrap forms * Process non-conforming materials following established procedures, able to identify and segregate non-conforming materials, transact as required in the company ERP (SAP) * Perform transactions in ERP system, as necessary to release product from Inspection * Read and conform to all company policies and procedures * Perform documentation evaluations * Interface with other departments including, Purchasing, Shipping, Receiving, Manufacturing, and Engineering as well as Supplier representatives * Assist auditors during internal audits * Other duties as assigned

We have the need for a First Shift Quality Inspector to join our Poway, CA team. Under limited supervision this position is responsible for inspecting a wide variety of parts, assemblies, tooling fixtures and material to ensure compliance with customer requirements, company specifications, and quality requirements. Sets up, operates, inspects, tests, and adjusts new and reworked tools, dies, gauges, jigs and fixtures for conformance to engineering drawings and specifications. Maintains, processes, and compiles a variety of confidential and sensitive electronic and hard copy reports, records and statistics. Assignments are typically non-routine where judgment and assessment are required to resolve moderately complex issues. May conduct inspections at customer or vendor sites. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Inspects machined parts, components, assemblies and materials to ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory guidelines (Military Standards, ASTM and ANSI, and ASME Code). Provides various electronic and hard copy reports of inspections and notifies appropriate parties including project engineers. Sets up and calibrates measuring and test equipment and schedules service and repair of equipment. May prepare, update and maintain calibration computer databases. May perform non-destructive test (NDT) on various metallic and non-metallic materials, parts and assemblies using a variety of methods and techniques such as radiography, helium leak testing, and/or ultrasonic testing. May observe testing and provide oversight, as necessary, to verify compliance with requirements. May interact with and provide responses to regulatory agencies and customers during their audits and review of company inspection and calibration activities. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. May coordinate the procurement of standard materials, services and parts for inspections. Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. Other duties as assigned or required. The QC Inspector's primary responsibility is to verify conformance of product to customer requirements and specifications through product inspection by 100% visual and/or dimensional measurement and product testing as well as the required secondary operations. Responsibilities: Inspection of product for visual defects via unaided eye or some magnification Inspection of product for dimensional specifications using contact and non contact measurement equipment Trimming of product to remove excess flash Perform required secondary operations such as part washing, drying, packaging Documentation of inspection results Qualifications: must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily Understanding the importance of product conformity Ability to read and write in English and/or Spanish Understand lot number identification and traceability Organized, neat and meticulous Able to perform repetitive tasks efficiently Good communication and interpersonal skills Basic math skills Perform other duties, as required Previous inspection experience is preferred Minimum of High School level of education is required Ability to handle moderate lifting, no greater than 50 lbs
