Overall Purpose of the Quality Inspector
Provide Quality services and support for all missions assigned to a manufacturing or warehouse site while ensuring a healthy and safe work environment.

Act as an impartial third party between the production source and the customer facility to ensure the product meets set criteria

Check/inspect manufactured parts or products for defects

Responsibilities
We're looking for a detail-oriented and motivated individual to perform physical and dimensional testing of products that help ensure quality and innovation within Analytical Services, Rigid Packaging Solutions North America. This is a 2nd shift position (2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.), with initial training on day shift. If you enjoy hands-on work, problem-solving, and collaborating with engineering and quality teams, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make an impact.
Key Job Accountabilities
Maintain incoming sample & project log history.
Write/modify work instructions for equipment and testing protocols.
Conduct all job duties in accordance with the company's published policies.
Perform mold qualifications and/or capability studies.
Perform physical tests to determine the limitations of the product for customer use.
Communicate with Product Development Engineers and Quality Assurance personnel to ensure proper testing is completed.
Troubleshoot potential quality issues.
Testing of resin, additive, and/or color sampling.
Improve measurement techniques and testing.
Educate inspectors on testing procedures regarding new products or tests, as necessary.
Perform special testing on products specified by customers.
Perform child safety testing, as needed.
Travel to and assist manufacturing sites as necessary in areas of gage setup, measurement technique training, and product qualification support
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred. Related industrial experience may be substituted for a degree.
ISO 9001:2008 experience preferred.
Certification as either an ASQ CQI or ASQ CQT is required or will be obtained.
Understanding of laboratory instrumentation for dimensional and physical properties analysis.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously. CPNA WI-00542 Rev. 1
Working knowledge of computer software such as the Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to travel, as necessary.
Ability to lift 40 lbs. occasionally

This position is responsible for verifying that parts made at FIA meet TIS requirements and all processes involved in the production and delivery of parts are followed via audits.
Perform dimensional and attribute checks using check fixtures, caliper, taper gauge, feeler gauge and surface indicators to ensure product and components meet specified standards.
Visually inspect finished product and components to ensure they meet specified standards.
Perform chisel, thread, torque, hammer, weld and shim count checks on Change Point Pieces.
Perform audits as specified by QC Management Team.
Elevate nonconformities or other abnormal conditions to the QC Team Leader and/or Supervisor and also notifying Production Team.
Assist QC leadership with containment and sorting of defective vendor components and finished product.
Support Quality improvement and cost saving initiatives such as scrap reduction and reworking of parts when appropriate.
