The Rotating Shift Quality Inspector is responsible for monitoring and verifying product quality throughout the manufacturing process. This role ensures all textile materials meet required specifications, standards, and customer expectations. The inspector supports production teams by identifying defects, documenting findings, and promoting continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine inspections of textile products at various stages of production (raw materials, in-process, and finished goods).
Measure and evaluate fabric characteristics such as weight, thickness, color, pattern, tensile strength, and overall appearance.
Identify defects (e.g., weaving flaws, dye inconsistencies, contamination) and communicate issues to operators and supervisors.
Record inspection results accurately using logs, checklists, or digital systems.
Conduct random sampling and quality audits according to established procedures.
Ensure production processes follow company quality standards and safety guidelines.
Assist in root-cause analysis and corrective action activities when defects or deviations occur.
Maintain inspection tools and equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
Support continuous improvement efforts, including 5S, Lean, and quality system initiatives.
Collaborate with production staff during shift handovers to ensure clear communication of quality concerns.
Work flexibly across rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Job Description
The Quality Inspector is responsible for completing Fit n Finish inspections for new construction homes. Fit and Finish inspections are comprehensive inspections just prior to turnover. The inspection focuses on verification that each unit is complete - meaning all systems and components, finishes, and finish hardware is installed to industry standard and are aesthetically attractive (straight, flush, clean). We inspect all surfaces and documents components as meeting or exceeding performance standards. Our Fit and Finish inspections include taking photographs of each item to ensure that each system and component reflect quality standards. Any anomalies identified are reported to the superintendent, and the responsible trade contractor is expected to immediately resolve the issue upon completion of our inspection. Quality Inspectors should enjoy exposure to varying environments and constantly facing new challenges and learning opportunities.
When QI is slow, you will be responsible for assisting the energy team including field and office work related to building and energy efficiency goals. The Inspector may also be responsible for helping the energy team with installing attic tents, air sealing, completing energy inspections, IAQ, durability, day-lighting, renewable, and/or other improvements on a building. The Quality Inspector may be required to supervise other contractors and provide on-site expertise. They should enjoy exposure to varying environments and constantly facing new challenges and learning opportunities.

Summary

Under minimal to no supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:
· Perform First Article, in-process, and final inspection activities of machined and structural sheet metal parts using a variety of conventional inspection tools, engineering drawings, process specifications, mylars, contour templates, form blocks, etc.
· Perform receiving inspection of purchased materials to verify conformance to purchase order requirements.
· Accurately document nonconforming material and prepare NCMR data for MRB review and disposition.
· Accurately and legibly fill out pertinent documentation, for example work orders/job travelers, inspection reports, etc.
· Log completed jobs in ERP system and complete appropriate paperwork (blue tags, job traveler, etc.) and moving product to the
next stage for processing.
· Ensure all parts, assemblies, material tools, etc. are not damaged and are leaving the quality department FOD free.
· Verify pick tickets for accuracy and traceability.
· Assess customer returned material (RMA) and provide feedback to management for proper disposition.
· Assist in training Quality Assurance inspectors.

Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
Quality Management: Assure that employees operate consistently within the policies and procedures of VPET USA INC.
Evaluate problems and make initial recommendations for possible corrective action to supervisor.
Participate in the construction and/or revision of SOPs for the inspection function.
Provide support to production team when required.
Visually and physically inspects materials, components, subassemblies, assemblies, tools, and final product configuration using blueprints, sketches, engineering drawings, and orders, and other applicable sources to observe, measure, record conformity to customer, regulatory, and company specifications.
Records compliance with quality standards to verify that company products and processes meet customer, company, and other specifications.
Solves inspection problems; methods-procedures, plans, and details.
Audits products and processes to verify system.
Maintains necessary inspection logs and writes inspection reports.
Communicate quality problems and work with engineering and leads to support, investigate and resolve the quality issues.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, identify, address problems and meet deadlines.
Self-motivated with ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
