Responsibilities:
Ensure FAI, in process, and final inspections meet internal and external specs.

Qualifications:
3+ years in manufacturing quality inspection, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.
Strong understanding of quality control processes and inspection techniques
Proficiency in using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometer, height gauges, etc.).
Working knowledge of blueprints and engineering drawings.
Hands-on experience with First Article Inspection (FAI), non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action (CAPA) processes.
Industry-specific experience (e.g., aerospace, automotive, medical devices).

Job Description
Key Areas of Responsibility (Answerable for the following end results)
1. Inspect parts at 200% inspection of headliners.
2. Assist hourly workforce with end of line (EOL) responsibilities.
3. Support APQP activities including PPAP, Trial Runs, and Engineering changes.
· Perform Inspection activities as needed.
· Verify material is properly identified
· Provide and communicate breakpoint
4. Ensure all nonconforming material is properly identified, contained and dispositional per the Control Plan and BOS.
· Identify and communicate nonconformance internally and between shifts
· Monitor effectiveness of Quality Alert
· Provide and communicate breakpoint
· Support problem solving activity
· Escalate out of specification conditions per Control Plan requirements
5. Ensure area of responsibility, equipment, inspection fixtures and documentation is organized, clean and in good working order and communicate any out of order conditions.
6. Document all activities as required.
7. Adhere to all company guidelines for Emergency Evacuation to ensure employee safety.
8. Any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management.
Limits of Authority
· Advise Department Supervisor/Manager of those situations that may pose a significant risk to the program, product assurance, facilities, employee safety or customer satisfaction results.
· Communicate and work adjacent with Quality Coordinator to reach Quality goals
· Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to product, process & systems.
· Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process or system.
· Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through the appropriate channels and verify implementation.
· Control further processing and delivery of nonconforming product until the deficiency is corrected.
Basic Education, Experience and Training Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· At least 1 year of automotive experience is preferred.
· Excellent written, mathematical, interpersonal and analytical skill.
· Proficient computer skills in Word, Excel, Power Point, and data entry.
· Working knowledge of statistics.
· Able to maintain confidentiality on products, services and processes.
· Must be flexible and able to work across all shifts as needed.

The pay range for this role is $36,700 - $43,200 per year. This role is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. Day Shift - 5:30AM to 4:00PM
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:
This position is responsible for hands-on inspection and testing of heavy truck equipment during and after assembly. The ideal candidate has mechanical knowledge of work trucks, snow and ice equipment, or diesel/truck repair, and can spot quality issues before equipment leaves the facility.
Perform in-process and final inspections using established QC checklists.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics to verify assemblies meet standards.
Document inspection findings and enter results into the quality log (CAPA system when applicable).
Work with production to investigate issues and verify rework has been completed.
Follow, update, and help improve inspection sheets and SOPs to reflect recurring issues.
Select units for testing at various build stages; check dimensions, welds, fit, hydraulics, and functionality.
Communicate clearly with production staff, supervisors, and quality leadership on inspection results.

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS:
Education/Experience: 2 3 years in truck equipment, diesel mechanic, fabrication, or related hands-on role. QC/inspection experience a plus.
Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to spot issues with welds, hydraulics, and assemblies.
Quality Skills: Familiarity with inspection checklists, reading prints, and documenting findings.
Communication Skills: Comfortable working with production staff, supervisors, and quality leadership to address issues.
Computer Skills: Basic ability to use Windows and MS Office (Excel for logs/reports).
Reasoning & Problem Solving: Able to work independently, make sound decisions, and keep a sense of urgency when identifying issues.
