**What You Will Do** Come be part of the Pit Technologies Division as a Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Inspector 1. You will be working at the Plutonium Center of Excellence located in Northern New Mexico at Los Alamos National Laboratory. We provide plutonium pit related products and services of superior quality and value to protect our nation and promote world stability. Pits are a key component of nuclear weapons. PT-7 is seeking a QA/QC Inspector 1 to perform basic set-ups, alignments, maintenance, operations, and/or calibration of conventional tools and/or equipment. You will evaluate the validity and acceptability of inspection results and monitor operations for adherence to project plans, specifications, and procedures. You will be involved with inspection of items against acceptance criteria using a range of inspection techniques ranging from open set up to CMMs and vision systems. **What You Need** **Minimum Job Requirements:** **Technical Knowledge:** Basic knowledge of and demonstrated experience in metrology and inspections operations. Basic knowledge of and experience interpreting and applying GD&T technical principles, theories, and concepts, through engineering blueprints, sketches, specifications, and related data to assist in the evaluation of design factors and conducting operational tests and troubleshooting on systems and equipment. **Tools and Equipment:** Basic knowledge of performing set up, alignments, maintenance, operations, and/or calibration of conventional inspection tools and/or equipment. **Education/Experience:** Position requires a High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year of related experience. **DOE Order 426.2:** Requires a High School Diploma **Desired Qualifications:** **Equipment:** Demonstrated experience in researching, specifying, and selecting measurement and test equipment. **Software Knowledge:** Experience in programming (CMMs), optical and/or vision systems for part inspection using metrology software packages such as Calypso, Quindos, PC-DMIS, or other related software. **Operation and Safety Experience:** Experience with operations, safety requirements, and/or demonstrated experience working under the DOE Order 440.1B, High Explosives Safety Manual or alternately working in a nuclear facility under DOE O 422.1, Conduct of Operations. **Qualifications:** Active DOE Q Clearance **Work Location:** The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. Verify that welders are qualified, and that welding procedures and specifications (WPS) are followed correctly. Ensure all welding activities adhere to relevant industry codes (like ASME, AWS, API) and contractual requirements. Perform pre-weld, in-process, and post-weld inspections to identify defects and ensure quality. Conduct visual inspections of welded joints, checking dimensions, penetration, and bead formation. Witness non-destructive testing (NDT) and interpret / verify results. Visual inspection on the quality of welding and mechanical projects. Ensure that materials, equipment, and safety regulations are followed. Prepare detailed reports documenting inspection results, including any issues found. Qualifications Must have at least one of the following: AWS / CWI / CSWIP/API Minimum of five (5) years industrial welding-related inspection experience. Two (2) of these years should be in Quality Assurance / vendor surveillance / shop inspections inspector. Minimum of 5 - 10 years of industry experience (mainly Oil and Gas) Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of welding inspections. Welding inspections experience at manufacturer shops / facilities. Welding inspection experience of Pipeline, Equipment i.e. Pressure vessels, Heat exchangers, Pumps, etc.. would be an asset. Work schedule is Monday to Friday - 8 to 10 hours/day Hourly rate - $40 to $45/hr + $0.70/km No set schedule, the inspector will be contacted as needed. If the inspection site is beyond a round trip of 200 miles from the inspector place of residence, a per diem may be considered. Includes all analytical chemical testing and full compliance with standard procedures. * Monitor scale operation and generate information for the accounting and production of all same day dice cheese. * Perform and evaluate all cheese melt tests necessary during different phases of the production process, accurately perform all other product evaluations including compaction tests, fines/oversize tests, etc. * Maintain and record accurate, concise, and detailed records of all results and data to be used to determine product in spec, disposition, production targets, acceptability, classification, sanitation, and contamination, and communicate results. * Enter micro and environmental data into database systems (Excel, Flex, etc.) * Perform necessary hourly quality checks during processing to include evaluation of input quality, output quality, magnets, metal detectors, liquid app checks, packaging integrity, weights, etc. * Interact with production and warehouse personnel for samples and to communicate results. * Perform other duties as assigned by working foreperson or supervisor. For more information, visit us at **************** What we Offer: * Medical Insurance * 100% Employer Paid Dental, Vision, Life, Short and Long Term Disability Insurance * 401K with Employer Contribution * Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) * Education Reimbursement (related field) * Employee Referral Program and Recognition Program * Paid Holidays and 15 Paid Time-Off Days annually Job Description: Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Review incoming maintenance documents for accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures. * Analyze airworthiness directives, service bulletins and service letters for applicability to company aircraft fleet. * Conduct internal audits and reviews of the systems, procedures, and manuals, programs and work cards as well as various areas of operations and departments as assigned. * Conduct external audits of contractors, vendors and maintenance facilities. * Verify that all work tasks completed by production personnel and applicable forms are in accordance with MPP's, CFR's and company policy and procedures. * Continual spot review of daily log pages, non-routines and work package contents for completeness, correct use of appropriate references and approved data. * Maintain the NCR/CAR logs as well as the review and follow up of all non-conforming product reports and corrective action reports. * Assist in back to birth trace research for purchased and acquired components. * All other duties as assigned Education and Experience: * High School Diploma or an Equivalent * Proficient with Microsoft Applications * Proficient in the English language * Must have at least two (2) years' of aviation-related experience. * Employee will be required to successfully obtain a repairman's certificate with the company if they do not have, or are in process of obtaining, an airframe and powerplant license. * Knowledge of FAR 145 regulations is preferred Abilities and Skills: * Ability to recognize current or future problems * Excellent organizational, operational and interpersonal skills. * Attention to detail * Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality with work product. * Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check * This position is safety sensitive and adheres to DOT drug and alcohol regulations. * Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. * Sit or stand for extended periods of time * Deductive Reasoning * Speech Clarity * Written Comprehension * Manual Dexterity * Near Vision Position PPE Requirements: * Compliance with safety and health protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment as required.
