RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follow all plant safety rules and required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Assists with incoming inspection of purchased materials.
Performs first article inspection, verification, and Equipment Set-up Evaluation (ESE) as required.
Perform in-process sampling inspection per the PCR instructions for Can Assembly and Press Depts.
Challenge in-process inspection cameras daily when production lines are in operation.
Perform dimensional evaluations and document attribute and variable inspection data.
Perform inspections as defined in SOPs.
Assist as needed to label pallets.
Conducts final inspection of completed product in Can Assembly and Press Depts.
Utilizes precision measuring devices and electronic equipment to ensure compliance of parts and products with established specifications.
Maintains a record of inspections, prepares a list of defects, interacts with other departments to ensure compliance with specifications, and facilitates the acceptance of parts.
Performs other duties as assigned

The Inspector 2 or 3 position is full-time on-site in Rolling Meadows, IL and will support the Specialized Tactical Electronic Warfare Systems (STEWS) program in the Integrated Mission Solutions (IMS) Operating Unit, within the Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector. Basic Inspector 2/3 Responsibilities include:
Perform both visual, mechanical and documentation reviews on all products (Electronic units and sub-assemblies, precision electro-mechanical assemblies, mechanical units, and sub-assemblies.
Perform incoming inspection, in-process, and final test reviews on all production items to ensure conformance to all drawing requirements; NGC Quality Management System (QMS) requirements in support of Production Contracts, purchase orders and/or internal work instructions.
Understand and utilize predetermined inspection methods (Blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawings or inspection instructions and checklists) to verify products meet various requirements.
Perform both visual and mechanical inspections and verifications on all purchased parts, components, and systems for all program initiatives.
Maintain records of results of all inspections, logs, write reports and other related activities utilizing approved documentation collection methods.
Witness test verifications and sell-off of assets through the verification of standards, use of test/monitoring equipment, test data sheets, drawing requirements and other approved documentation.
Perform in-process audits to ensure product meets requirements
Receive input regarding suggested process changes in support of efficiency, and to improve productivity.
Monitor compliance to requirements (ESD, safety glasses; use of personal protective equipment (PPE); ear protection, etc.).

Responsibilities:
Sample using Z1.4 testing tables and cGMP practices.

Skills and Qualifications:

Must be capable of carrying items up to 40 pounds or, for heavier objects, must seek assistance of other workers or weightlifting devices.
Must be capable of wearing cumbersome personal protective equipment for HAZMAT operations.
May be required to work night shifts.
May work in Aircraft maintenance hangar or outside.
