Under limited supervision this position is responsible for inspecting a wide variety of parts, assemblies, tooling fixtures and material to ensure compliance with customer requirements, company specifications, and quality requirements. Sets up, operates, inspects, tests, and adjusts new and reworked tools, dies, gauges, jigs and fixtures for conformance to engineering drawings and specifications. Maintains, processes, and compiles a variety of confidential and sensitive electronic and hard copy reports, records and statistics. Assignments are typically non-routine where judgment and assessment are required to resolve moderately complex issues. May conduct inspections at customer or vendor sites.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Inspects machined parts, components, assemblies and materials to ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory guidelines (Military Standards, ASTM and ANSI, and ASME Code). Provides various electronic and hard copy reports of inspections and notifies appropriate parties including project engineers.
+ Sets up and calibrates measuring and test equipment and schedules service and repair of equipment. May prepare, update and maintain calibration computer databases.
+ May perform non-destructive test (NDT) on various metallic and non-metallic materials, parts and assemblies using a variety of methods and techniques such as radiography, helium leak testing, and/or ultrasonic testing.
+ May observe testing and provide oversight, as necessary, to verify compliance with requirements.
+ May interact with and provide responses to regulatory agencies and customers during their audits and review of company inspection and calibration activities.
+ May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
+ May coordinate the procurement of standard materials, services and parts for inspections.
+ Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

Perform and document First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102 standards, including the creation of Forms 1, 2 & 3 and ballooning requirements (experience with DISCUS software is a plus).
Perform final inspections, review customer requirements, and compile complete documentation packages.
Support in-process inspections and monitor production area processes to ensure quality compliance.
Accurately document inspection results, work instruction changes, and nonconforming conditions with clear, concise reports.
Interpret mechanical and composite drawings, specifications, and requirements with a high degree of proficiency.
Conduct receiving inspections for materials and parts outsourced for special processing.
Participate in internal audits and cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience with Articulating Arm or CMM inspection using Verisurf is a plus.

Lay out diagrams for use on optical comparator in accordance with engineering change or tool design change orders. Approve acceptable tooling or recommend return to vendor.

What You'll Do:
Ensure Quality Control. Conduct routine testing of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, and finished materials to ensure quality control of products at the point of production, shipping, and arrival upon the job site. Adhere to testing methods, including American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and Department of Transportation (DOT).
Document and Report Information. Complete all required reports in a timely and accurate manner, interpreting, documenting, and storing the results. Communicate test results in a timely manner to the supervisor and properly document in a database.
Maintain Lab Standards. Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained in and around the lab. Troubleshoot problems and review basic product specifications. Inspect, calibrate, and maintain testing equipment periodically.
Monitor Stockpile. Inspect stockpiles, materials sources, and truckloads at plant sites. Monitor the daily construction of the stockpile to ensure that segregation and contamination is kept to a minimum or eliminated. Notify management immediately if contamination is identified.
Inspect Equipment and Structures. Conduct routine inspections of the plant equipment in order to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations to maximize production and minimize interruptions.

About the Opportunity
Coordinates the Quality Assurance Inspectors to inspect incoming materials, work in-process and finished goods in the production/assembly of dental parts/assemblies/finished goods to ensure conformance as defined by ISO 13485:2016, FDA regulated standards, customer specifications, and Argen requirements.
In this role, the successful candidate will:
Ensures Quality Inspection area is running efficiently.
Makes on-the-spot personnel adjustments to keep processes on times, and communicates all adjustments to the Supervisor.
Communicates clear instructions to team members.
Ensures safety guidelines are followed.
Facilitates team participation.
Acts as a liaison between inspectors and the Supervisor.
Assists the Supervisor to conduct and document training.
Ensures compliance to all applicable regulations to FDA, ISO, MDSAP, OSHA, etc.
Ensures completeness and accuracy of quality inspection documentation.
Assists inspectors by answering questions and demonstrating inspection processes.
Confirms all Quality Inspectors are up to date on their training requirements in Vivaldi.
Reinforces proper adherence to required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the area.
Utilizes microscope, digital calipers, micrometer, optical comparator, vision measurement system, and other related equipment with optimal accuracy.
Provides in-process/final inspection and testing as required.
Provides inspection of outside processing (receiving inspection).
Maintains proper inspection and test records.
Assures that non-conforming material has been properly identified.
Advises the responsible production personnel of the acceptability of products or materials based on results of testing and/or inspection.
Provides solutions to technical problems and assists on special projects.
Maintains lot traceability, log sheets, and good housekeeping practices at all times.
Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
What does it take to be successful?
High school diploma required.
Previous experience working in a GMP facility a plus.
Knowledge of cGMP regulations ISO 13485, 21CFR Part 820, CMDR SOR/98-282, 93/42/EEC, RDC 16 2013, MHLW MO 169 and TG(MD) R Sch3 preferred.
Knowledge of scientific products and services.
Conform to all customer requirements for background checks, health and safety issues, security clearance.
Exhibits leadership skills and accountability.
Fast learner with high attention to detail.
Strong communication skills.
Excellent Customer Service Skills; display a professional can-do attitude.
Perform duties with the highest regard for safety and quality.
Ability to understand and follow site protocols, policies and procedures
