Perform audits of customer orders/shipments to verify all items are present and packaged to prevent damage during shipping. Conduct product audits of finished goods, RMA/Repack and OE Kitting areas at EDC warehouse. Review, disposition of RMA / repack area product - both visual inspection and system movements. Other functions as required and assigned by supervisor. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 3-5 years experience or equivalent work experience in the inspection and/or quality profession. Strong understanding of inspection methods and techniques and understanding and implementation of receiving goods sampling, auditing techniques Basic quality tools - calipers, pin gages, micrometers, visual inspection Must be mechanically proficient including the use of basic hand and power tools. Computer literate in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint). Computer literate in ERP system Good oral and written communication skills. Essential Job Requirements: Produce/create electronic/handwritten Quality Assurance documentation as Objective Quality Evidence for work performed throughout the preservation process. Develop and Maintain Test and Inspection Plan (TIP) for all assigned jobs. Monitor and document all required readings with regard to, but not limited to, metal anchor tooth (profile), paint wet/dry film thickness (DFT), steel temperatures and all required environmental readings using appropriate equipment to include: micrometer, dry film thickness gauge, infrared thermometer, psychomotor. Ensure all assigned equipment is maintained in good working order with within all calibration certification intervals. All of the above requirements shall be completed in a safe and efficient manner so as not to cause injury to self or others. Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent Required Certification: NACE Inspector and/or SSPC NBPI required. Required Experience: Formal or informal on-the-job training in the marine industry; familiarity with Navy and Society for Protective Coatings standards. The Bureau of Environmental Health maintains as its principal goal the preservation and protection of the environmental quality of the City of New Haven. Work includes: Utilize and enforce applicable sections of the State Public Health Code, State Statutes, and Municipal Ordinances Resolve cases of childhood lead poisoning; provide educational outreach activities and assist with distribution of federal lead abatement funds to prevent lead poisoning. Investigate and resolve public health nuisances and infractions of applicable statutes and/or ordinances Assist in preparing for and responding to public health emergencies Lead is a poisonous substance found in most homes in New Haven, especially those built before 1978. In fact, over 80% of New Haven homes are likely to contain lead. When exposed to lead, children or adults can have permanent and severe health problems. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS This is a technical position under the general supervision of the Environmental Health Program Director or designee in the Department of Health to perform investigations, education, and outreach for the prevention of childhood lead poisoning. Work includes inspections for the purpose of determining the presence of lead-based paint and surface coverings and lead in soil, dust and drinking water. Work is performed within the framework of existing laws, ordinances, policies, and regulations. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Inspects buildings and dwellings for possible sources of lead poisoning. Conducts investigations, following established protocols, of home environments of children exhibiting the symptoms of blood-lead poisoning. Pay Rate: $20 - $22/hour (based on experience) 1st shift, contract to hire What You'll Do Perform in-process and final inspections of rubber parts and finished products Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other hand tools Ensure products meet quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements Identify, document, and report defects and nonconforming material Work closely with production teams to address and resolve quality issues Complete inspection records and basic quality documentation Support continuous improvement, safety, and housekeeping standards on the manufacturing floor What We're Looking For 2+ years of Quality Control or Inspection experience in a manufacturing environment Experience inspecting rubber, plastics, molded, or similar manufactured products preferred Ability to read and understand specifications, work instructions, or drawings Comfortable using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges Strong attention to detail and consistency Basic computer skills for documentation Dependable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude Nice to Have (Not Required) Experience with ISO or internal quality systems Familiarity with defect analysis or root cause identification Background in rubber manufacturing, molding, or extrusion Why This Opportunity? 1st shift schedule with steady hours Contract-to-hire potential Hands-on role where quality truly matters Competitive pay based on experience How to ApplyIf you have quality inspection experience and are looking for a long-term opportunity in manufacturing, apply today.
