    Purpose Accountable for basic operation of the site's quality assurance and control program including but not limited to: assisting and supporting all safety, environmental and quality regulations, product testing and adherence to standards, targets and recipes, maintain relevant equipment and calibrations, and decision-making through basic statistical understanding. Key Responsibilities Perform all work in accordance with safety rules and regulations and participate in facility health & safety activities as assigned Use descriptive statistics to identify non-conforming material to site referenced standards and targets Ensure all relevant quality requirements are consistently met according to the QA manual and plant SOPs Ensure that non-conforming product is appropriately quarantined, identified and segregated according to standard procedures Ensure the communication of non-conformance is clear and concise to required parties. Disposition basic non-conforming product as allowed by site Technical Manager. Record testing and inspection results by inputting into appropriate database or spreadsheets while identifying and responding to test results outside of product standards and targets Verify that all product packaging and appearance standards meet site and client expectations. Generate and analyze reports and charts Monitor and document process parameter changes as assigned Communicate test results and observations to operations and management to maintain process and product conformance Monitor and record consumption and inventory of raw materials (wax, resin, etc.). Verify quality of raw materials as required Support preventive and unscheduled maintenance tasks. Assist in process and product tests/trials. Calibration and documentation of laboratory equipment and plant-wide thermometers. Daily water and air testing. Verify and approve the proper conformance and usage of rework. Collect and help maintain flavor retains. Complete product cuttings to ensure proper variegate and inclusion distribution within the products. Yogurt culture preparation and titration, brix testing for sorbet products, butterfat and total solids testing as specified by products. Clean and organize Lab. Print and develop mix sheets as needed to help assist production. Adhere and communicate quality, safety and security regulations. Food Safety Requirements: Maintaining food safety and food quality through ensuring GFSI compliance. Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action. The monitoring of daily production to ensure high quality and food safety. Assuring personnel hygiene and welfare practices within the facility. Coverage: Lab Supervisor is trained in all aspects of the Lab Technician and able to perform coverage in this position as needed. Submit applications and reports to the state and other partner entities. Assist with administrative file work when needed. Perform brief pre-audit home inspections. Oversee contractor work through periodic inspections while jobs are in progress. Serve as primary point of contact for contractors with technical needs or questions. Support contractor work by offering hands-on or document-based training in areas where contractor knowledge or skill deficiencies are present. Provide customer service to clients regarding matters such as job progress, feedback or questions regarding contractors, and education about weatherization measures. Perform 6-month follow-up visits with clients to hear and address any concerns with completed work. Collaborate with administrative staff in matters such as contractor scheduling and bid and work order issuance. Abide by all compliance principles issued by Federal, State and Local rules and regulations relevant to client eligibility, file maintenance, audit and inspection standards, performance codes, and installation of acceptable weatherization measures and products. Maintain tools and diagnostic equipment. Ensure periodic maintenance schedules are met and perform safety checks for departmental vehicles. Serve on agency safety committee. Attend trainings to obtain certification requirements, learn new innovative technology, and incorporate new methods in our delivery of weatherization services. Assist with the development and delivery of energy conservation training courses including the proper installation of self-help materials. Read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, building codes, blueprints, and weatherization specifications. Performs other duties as assigned by the Weatherization Manager. Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner; both orally and written with State officials, contractors, professional peers, clients and staff. Operate diagnostic equipment (blower door, duct blaster, infrared camera, pressure diagnostics, moisture meters, gas detection equipment, combustion analyzer, etc.) as required to meet program guidelines. Experience preferred.
