Qualifications
Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree in horticulture, entomology, plant pathology, or other related plant sciences field and experience equivalent to two years of full-time work in one or a combination of the following: (1) the development or enforcement of regulations which deal with the production or distribution of horticultural/agricultural plants or the application of commercial pesticides, or (2) the production and distribution, or scientific study of horticultural plants.
Substitution of Experience for Education: Qualifying full-time professional experience in (1) the development or enforcement of regulations which deal with the production or distribution of horticultural/agricultural plants or the application of commercial pesticides, or (2) the production and distribution, or scientific study of horticultural plants may be substituted for the required education, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of four years (e.g., experience equivalent to one year of full-time work in one or a combination of the above listed fields may substitute for one year of the required education).

Overview
Under general supervision, is responsible for professional inspection and enforcement work of average difficulty involving wholesalers and retailers subject to horticultural laws and regulations; and performs related work as required.
This is the working level class in the Plant Inspection sub-series. An employee in this class inspects and certifies wholesale and retail nursery and greenhouse stock. This class differs from that of Plant Inspector 1, in that an incumbent of the latter functions at the entry level. This class differs from Plant Inspector 3 in that an incumbent of the latter functions as a regional supervisor.
An employee appointed to this flexibly staffed class will be reclassified to this class after successful completion of a mandatory two-year training period; inadequate or marginal performance during the training period will result in automatic demotion or termination.
Responsibilities
1. Inspects and recommends certification of plant producers for the production and distribution of plants; inspects wholesale and retail plant producers' and/or dealers' stock for proper storage to ensure plants are maintained and sold true to their variety, viability, and labeling; inspects plants for disease, insects, and/or plant pests; completes nursery certification forms to approve nurseries, greenhouses, and other plant producers for production and distribution.
2. Certifies plant shipments for intrastate, interstate, and international transport and sale; inspects wholesale and retail plant producers' and/or dealers' stock for proper storage to ensure plants are maintained and sold true to their variety, viability, and labeling; inspects plants for disease, insects, and/or plant pests; completes phytosanitary certification forms to approve plant shipments for transfer or sale.
3. Enforces regulations concerned with plant pest and disease control; examines records of retail plant dealers and/or producers to ensure plants have been purchased from certified sources to prevent the spread of plant pests and diseases; enforces compliance agreements; makes regulatory decisions as to the destruction or treatment of diseased or damaged plants; issues stop sale orders, and levies civil penalties when necessary.
4. Provides technical guidance to plant producers and/or dealers, nurserymen, greenhouse owners, home owners and farmers on methods of detection, control and eradication of harmful plant insects, diseases, and parasites; may supervise in the application of pesticides to treat plant problems.
5. Assists in the control and eradication of agricultural pests through a variety of methods, including aerial spraying and ground applications.
6. Assists in surveys of plant pests throughout the State; gathers information on location, movement and population size of various problem insects and other pests (e.g., gypsy moth, fire ant, Japanese beetle); records gathered information onto standardized survey forms.
7. Prepares and maintains inspection reports, expense reports and routine correspondence.
8. May lead the activities of lower-level classifications during seasonal surveys of a variety of pests (e.g., gypsy moth, fire ant, Japanese beetle).

Position Summary
The Quality Control - Aircraft Inspector is responsible for ensuring all aircraft maintenance, inspections, repairs, and documentation are carried out in strict compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer's specifications, customer requirements, and Company standards. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Overview
Under general supervision, is responsible for professional inspection and enforcement work of average difficulty involving wholesalers and retailers subject to horticultural laws and regulations; and performs related work as required.

Compensation Details
* Pay Rate: starting hourly rate is between $27.00 and $37.00 per hour based on your prior work experience. You will also receive an additional $1.00 override for working the nightshift.
* Step Pay Increases: Eligible for a $1.00 increase each year on your pay anniversary date, up to a maximum rate of $42.00 per hour.
* Retention Bonus: After reaching the top of the pay scale, eligible for an annual retention bonus of up to $2,000.00 based on performance.
* Overtime Pay: Hours worked in excess of 40 per week will be paid at 1.5 times your hourly rate.
* Holiday Pay: Work performed on Contour Airlines' observed holidays will be compensated at 2 times your hourly rate. A list of Company-recognized holidays is outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Position Summary
The Quality Control - Aircraft Inspector is responsible for ensuring all aircraft maintenance, inspections, repairs, and documentation are carried out in strict compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer's specifications, customer requirements, and Company standards. This role is critical to maintaining the highest levels of airworthiness, safety, and operational reliability.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Perform incoming, in-progress, and final inspections of aircraft, components, and articles maintained by the Company.
* Monitor workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and Company procedures.
* Verify that all required maintenance and inspection documentation is completed accurately and in compliance with regulations.
* Oversee proper use of tools, equipment, and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
* Confirm that all maintenance work meets FAA, customer, Company, and manufacturer standards of quality.
* Complete inspection records in accordance with the Repair Station Manual / Quality Control Manual and applicable customer guidelines.
* Conduct surveillance of maintenance practices, storage areas, shops, and housekeeping standards, initiating corrective actions as required.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Quality Control Inspectors are certified in receipt inspection, and other disciplines as needed, to verify that structures, systems, and components conform to predetermined requirements (e.g., codes, standards, specifications, regulatory, and contractual requirements). Non-conforming conditions, including suspect/counterfeit items, identified during the inspection and testing process shall be identified, documented, and dispositioned in accordance with established processes/procedures.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Possesses and applies a comprehensive body of knowledge to the timely and high-quality completion of assigned tasks.
Perform receipt inspections at Central Receiving Facility or at Project location by examining inbound equipment and material for required characteristics (e.g., dimensional inspection, materials of construction) specified in the inspection plans and procurement documents.
Document receipt inspections using the UCOR Electronic Purchasing System (EPS) and/or on Special Receiving Inspection Reports.
Report programmatic deficiencies as Conditions Adverse to Quality (CAQ), as appropriate.
Travel to vendor/supplier locations to perform source release inspections prior to shipment to UCOR sites.
Be familiar with the scope and limitations of each discipline for which the individual is certified.
Interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, drawings, and specifications.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
At a minimum, the following combination of education and experience is required.
A high school or GED diploma with three (3) years related experience in equivalent inspection or testing activities; or
An associate's degree in a related discipline plus one (1) year of related experience in equivalent inspection or testing activities; or
A bachelor's degree plus six (6) months of related experience in equivalent inspection or testing activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Effective written, listening, and oral communication skills.
Be able to use inspection planning tools, determine sample size for lots, and pull random samples.
Knowledge to interpret design documents (e.g., specifications).
Be able to select the appropriate measuring tools and techniques.
Understand types of measurement, measurement terminology, and the different types of measurement scales.
Be able to identify and report non-conforming conditions.
Have basic calibration knowledge to recognize in-or-out of calibration conditions.
Knowledge of the quality control principles.
Knowledge of regulatory and contractual requirements that impact the QA program.
Ability to obtain a DOE Q-Clearance, as needed.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
5 years prior experience related to receipt inspection or certification as a Level II or III Quality Control Inspector is preferred.
LOCATION
This full-time on-site position is located at the UCOR office in Oak Ridge, TN. UCOR is conducting major cleanup activities at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and the Y-12 National Security Complex as well as remedial activities at the East Tennessee Technology Park (ETTP). Cleanup missions on the Oak Ridge Reservation (ORR) focus on protecting people and the environment from industrial and chemical hazards while enabling current and future science and national security programs. UCOR also leads critical projects (e.g., Outfall 200 Mercury Treatment Facility and the Environmental Management Disposal Facility) and manages nuclear operations facilities at the ORNL and Transuranic Waste Processing Center. As a DOE Voluntary Protection Star site-the highest safety designation for a DOE site-safety is a prerequisite for the performance of all work performed.
