Conduct routine testing of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, and finished materials to ensure quality control of products at the point of production, shipping, and arrival upon the job site. The Quality Control Technician - Level 1 is responsible for performing routine quality control inspections throughout the production process to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements, including USDA guidelines. This role plays a key part in maintaining food safety and product integrity by executing inspections, verifying processes, and documenting findings accurately and timely. Daily Responsibilities: Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are being followed on the production floor. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary based on county and volume. Although you are paid per inspection, you will earn the equivalent of $30-$40 per hour. Depending on a county and if it is urban or rural you will complete anywhere from 20-500 inspections per month working 2-30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month-to-month. Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect or are willing to cover a larger territory. No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
