Role Description
The Quality Technician based in Weirton, WV will perform a vital role as a hands-on quality team member at Form Energy. You will work directly with Production/Operations, Plant Quality Control, Supplier Quality, and the Warehousing teams to ensure the quality of our product. You will be directly involved in planning and executing processes for our volume manufacturing efforts. This role is an excellent opportunity to play a special part in the early development of Form Energy's new products.
This role will be located at
Form Factory 1
in Weirton, WV, which is just a short drive outside of Pittsburgh, PA.
What you'll do:
Perform measurements, tests, inspections, and audits to support Product Control Plans and input results into our Quality Management System.
Provide feedback on quality procedures and tools to achieve continuous improvement.
Help maintain clean, organized inspection environments in our receiving area, metrology lab, and on the production floor.
Have an eye for quality and flag changes or concerning variations in processes and materials.
Be a champion for safety in all of their work.
What you'll bring:
3+ years experience in heavy manufacturing assembly or quality inspection
Experience using industry standard metrology tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, microscopes, multimeters, CMMs, optical comparators
Experience using test equipment such as tensile testers, wire harness testers, ultrasonic testers, and physical property characterization equipment
Experience working and auditing to industry standards including ISO 9001 or equivalent, NADCAP, ASTM test standards, IPC 610/620/J-STD-001, etc.
Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
15+ years of construction and quality management experience.

Day Shift
Pennsboro based, but must be willing to cross train and work other Ritchie County locations as needed
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures that standards set forth by the Plant Manager continue throughout the production process. A Quality Assurance (QA) Technician inspects and detects non-conformance, notifies managers and supervisors of the results, and prevent defects from reaching consumers. Additionally, the QA Technician is involved in continuous improvement of the production process.
Performs process and finished good audits of employees' quality inspections & equipment setup, and operational conditions to ensure process controls are observed
The QA Technician will perform the checking of material, production, finished goods, and following the AAMA required measures of compliance
Verify product conform to engineering specification (size, labeling, balance, etc.)
Check operation of products (locks, balances, smooth movement, etc.)
Inspect product to ensure Corporate Windows standard are met (clean, free from dirt/ marks/ scratches, proper labeling, etc.)
Assist production in identifying root cause of defect trends then recommend containment and corrective actions as appropriate
Identify, segregate, and document nonconforming raw materials for disposition
Verify standard methods are being followed, inspecting Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance, and completing Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), Critical To Quality, NDF, and Focused Process audits
Review rejects and defect trends with production supervisors and Leadership
Calculate quality scores from inspection and audit results
Participate in Kaizen Events
Measure and update weekly audit reports
Qualifications
Education
Associate degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS
ISO, Six Sigma, or other Quality/Lean certification preferred
WORK EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 2 years' experience in quality control/production. Continuous improvement experience preferred
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Possess excellent organization skills and attention to detail
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and desire to effectively collaborate with production workers and supervisors
Ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written form, including small group presentations
Possess basic shop mathematic skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fraction/decimal conversion, percentage calculation, etc. And a desire to learn Quantitative QUality skills
Ability to document and use problem solving tools for problem identification and resolution
Ability to take initiative and work independently
Proficient in computer use and common software programs including Microsoft Office
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
Ability to bend, twist, reach, grasp, stand, walk and perform fine manipulation with fingers
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
Close vision, color perception, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Exposed to excessive noise, dust, fumes or chemicals on the shop floor
Intermittently exposed to inclement weather
