Essential Responsibilities: Train, coaches, mentors, empowers and develops good GMP practices with all team members. Maintains compliance and handles all non-compliance and deviations in a swift manner. Monitors packaging (CQP#1) and process cheese manufacturing (CCP#1) operations for quality/ Food Safety compliance issues. Properly documents line checks and ensures accuracy in paperwork Evaluate line paperwork for accuracy and completeness and file appropriately as needed. Develops, advises on and coordinates continuous quality improvement initiatives. Ensures compliance with quality policies throughout all internal departments. Assist in preparation as needed for USDA/FDA audits, SQF third-party audits, military, and organic audits. Ability to create/maintain and investigate in-house product testing. Conduct Sanitation Pre-Op inspections. Ability to write/construct and implement SOPs, work instructions and form documents pertinent to establishing and maintaining high standards of functioning in both the laboratory setting and production plant. Primary environmental and product sampling responsibility of the Biery Cheese Environmental Program. Support production personnel's quality needs on the production line. Support bulk cheese grading personnel and be able to allocate bulk cheese based on grading results. Complete monthly facility internal audits/ input findings. Complete customer COA's on a daily basis/ maintain individual customer COA requirements. Ability to conduct daily sensory reviews on our process cheeses (CCP#2). Perform weekly air sampling testing/ maintain program/ documentation. Assist in “Red Flag” product monitoring and new product launches. Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities of the QC Technician II include implementing and recording various testing methodology within the laboratory. Monitor plant cleaning activities by conducting regular swabbing of production equipment. This position is responsible for the quality, safety, and compliance of the laboratory operations as well as the timely release of test results. Starting pay: $20/hr Essential functions · QA Techs are responsible for ensuring adherence to food quality and food safety rules and regulations as required by the quality standards and/or Safe Quality Food requirements · Ensure all products being run conform to the product specifications as outlined in SAP by conducting analysis on raw deliveries, syrup batches, and treated water · Conduct chemical and physical analysis on raw and intermediate processing materials including packaging materials and determine status of materials (acceptable or not) · Maintain accurate, legible records of all tests and retests performed · Work closely with all departments to improve quality, increase efficiencies, increase yields, and eliminate out of specification or damaged product · Evaluate finished products against current standards by performing audits to monitor all aspects of finished product and packaging integrity · Check process control parameters to assure proper equipment application and operation is being maintained by performing secure seal, closure torque, and seaming checks. · Maintain laboratory cleanliness · Complete special projects and other reasonable duties as assigned by senior support Required Skills and Competencies · Strong computer skills · Proficient in Excel, Word, SAP, and PowerPoint · Strong analytical skills, problem solving skills, and results oriented · Organized, detail oriented, and adaptable to change Working Conditions: · Physical- Most if not all days in this position require continuous standing or walking along with a requirement to lift, handle, or carry material of moderate weight · Visual/ Sensory- This position requires regular need to give moderate attention with one or two senses at a time · Work environment- Nature of work and environment are repetitive however tasks may vary day to day · Mental Stress- There is pronounced pressure from deadlines, production quotas, and accuracy demands as well as similar stresses day to day. Job Description Kelly Services is currently seeking three Laboratory Technicians in Toledo, Ohio. This is a contract opportunity. Knowledge of corn and grains a plus!!! Position Description: • Maintains proficiency in and follows documented analytical procedures and program to provide QC testing in the Grain Inspection Laboratory. • Follows all Laboratory and Company rules/guidelines, including Safety, GMP, and Personnel policies. • Communicates any unusual problems or developments relative to product quality to the QC Lead Technician or Site Supervisor. • Answer internal phone calls regarding product concerns. • Meet deadlines. • Perform duties related to the Grain Inspection Laboratory as required or directed by the Site Supervisor or Team Leader • Identifies and reports problems with equipment or procedures to shift leaders, and assists in regular maintenance of equipment. • Read and understand all procedures that pertain to testing being performed.
