The Quality Manager reports directly to the General Manager or Operations Manager, depending on the site. This position also indirectly reports to the Global Quality Director for guidance on rules, tools and processes. The Quality Manager is responsible for Quality Control and Quality Assurance functions and ensures the manufacturing processes and Business and Quality Management System processes are adhered to. These processes include but are not limited to receiving inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection, first article inspection (FAI), internal auditing, CAPA and feedback to management. The Quality Manager is detail oriented, reliable, and committed to continuous improvement and teamwork. This position is senior to the Quality Supervisor position and oversees all Quality Control and Quality Assurance functions and processes for the site. Uses software/MS tools to track, communicate and improve quality data and assists in delivery of reports to management. Monitors the ongoing sustainability of the QBMS. Other tasks as directed by management. Reviews ISO 9001 requirements and ensures all supporting processes are sustained and implemented including calibration, CAPA and management review. Desired Education/Knowledge/Skills: A minimum of an AS Degree in Engineering, Business or equivalent is highly desired. 3-5 years of experience in an approved quality function may be an acceptable alternative. Minimum of 3 years of proven quality or process control experience. Highly efficient in 8D problem solving and Root Cause Analysis. Ability to lead small teams, including supervision, training and evaluating employees. Understanding of basic manufacturing processes. Ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing. Bilingual Spanish preferred. Proficient (intermediate skills) in the MS Suite (Word, Excel) and ability to learn proprietary software.
