Job Description Arnold Magnetic Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to join our Quality Control Department. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment, strong analytical skills, and a passion for maintaining high-quality standards. While prior industry experience is preferred, we are willing to train and develop the right individual. Key Responsibilities Perform in-process, final, and first-piece inspections to ensure product conformance to engineering specifications and blueprints. Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical comparators. Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings, applying basic GD&T principles. Create and maintain inspection documentation including FAIRs, inspection reports, and quality records. Assist with conducting quality audits and in maintaining AS9100/ISO9001 quality systems. Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions. Support root cause analysis, RMA/MRB reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. Analyze inspection and test data to identify trends and recommend process improvements. Train operators on visual standards, deburring, and in-process inspection procedures. Maintain calibration records and ensure inspection equipment is in proper working condition. Participate in FMEA and capability (Cp/Cpk) or Gage R&R studies as required. Analyze magnetic material compliance to chemical and magnetic standards using XRF and hysteresis graph data. Perform other tasks as requested by management. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical or associate degree in manufacturing, engineering, or quality is a plus. Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in quality assurance or inspection within a manufacturing environment. Background in machining, foundry, heat treat, or magnetic materials is a plus. Required Skills: Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation (basic GD&T required). Strong understanding of measurement methods and metrology principles. Hands-on experience with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges, etc.). Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Strong math and geometry/trigonometry skills. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Skills: Experience with SPC, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methods. Familiarity with AS9100/ISO9001 quality systems. Exposure to Lean Manufacturing concepts. Experience with Keyence IM systems and Net-Inspect portals. We are looking for a candidate who can work 2nd shift. The hours will be 2pm - 10pm CST. Purpose: Technicians are directly responsible for ensuring that products meet established standards of quality including reliability, usability, and performance. Key responsibilities: Performs tests at various stages of production process to determine whether material meet prescribed formulas and standards in order to maintain quality and reliability of products. Draws sample to be tested at specified stages in production process. Sets up and performs standardized tests to determine physical properties. Determines conformity to prescribed formulas and standards, and documents deviations. Makes routine adjustments or notifies appropriate personnel. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all quality tests and inspections. Maintains test equipment. Identify and troubleshoot quality issues and non-conformances; recommend corrective actions. Participate in the development and revision of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for quality control. Participate in internal and external audits. Provide training and support to other laboratory personnel. Records test data. Performs other related duties as assigned by management. Monitor product quality to ensure compliance with standards and specifications. Prepare chemical solutions for products or processes, following standardized formulas, or create experimental formulas. Evaluating information to determine compliance with standards - using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards. Documenting/Recording Information Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates - providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person Qualifications: High School Diploma required. An associate's or bachelor's degree is desirable, but not required. Three to five years related experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Testing experience, able to come to conclusions, refer complex problems to supervisor. Working knowledge of Word and Excel. Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and ability to use various measuring devices are preferred. Ability and willingness to do shift work. Pass appropriate in-house task test(s). Environmental Conditions: General working environment for refractory operation (Heat and noise exposure). There is no climate control in most working areas. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight; Must be able to, bend, climb stairs, walk and stand for long periods of time.
