ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor production to ensure all documentation is complete. Monitor scaling of raw materials, mixing of ingredients to ensure compliance with formula cards (i.e., correct ingredients, correct lot codes, quantities). Verify and conduct process control audits and address out of specification findings in a timely manner.
Verify control points are being monitored and are acceptable per food safety requirements.
Ensure product specifications, weights, color and other attributes of finished product are acceptable.
Control out of specification products and provide recommendation of disposition.
Monitor packaging to ensure correct labelling, date coding, and correct packaging is being followed.
Organoleptic tests of finished goods to ensure acceptance to standards, taste, eye appeal, odor etc.
Advise QA Manager regarding questionable product, discarding of bad product or possible stopping of production line to correct or prevent product food safety & quality issues.
Monitor production processing and assist operators in making adjustments to processing methods during production to improve product quality & consistency.
Monitor metal detectors and scales to ensure complete accuracy.
Assist production employees with label printing as necessary.
Work with production and warehouse to control, maintain, and/or improve as appropriate the handling, storage and usage of all other materials.
Provide individual or group training to production employees on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), product specifications, SPC, production controls, formulas, visual quality inspection criteria, GMP, Food Safety procedures.
Assist in development of SOPs by working with production operators to understand current operating procedures, identify best methods. Assist in developing HACCP/Food Safety Plans, Food Defense Plans and Global Food Safety Initiative audit schemes such as BRC.
Participate in audits and participate in internal audits.
Perform GMP inspection.
Control and retain samples and associated reports.
Conduct sampling as required by company procedures.
Conduct inspections of equipment during preoperational inspection, changeovers and/or as required by company policies.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires high school diploma, or equivalent.
Previous experience in Quality or Food Safety in a food manufacturing environment.
Requires flexible schedule & strong computer skills in excel and other programs.
Must be self-disciplined, pay attention to detail, multitask, be comfortable training and be a good communicator.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to stand, walk, kneel/squat, climb, bend and lift a maximum of 50lbs.

Working under the immediate supervision of a registered professional engineer, you work as a team member alongside site managers, general contractors, and engineers to perform the required inspection or sampling services at various environmentally regulated solid waste landfill construction projects. You monitor general contractor activities, onsite testing, and reporting of earthwork and soil construction as well as geosynthetic baseliner, closure cap, piping, and gas extraction systems. In addition, you actively collect concrete, soil, and other site materials for testing in order to ensure construction standards and specifications are being met.

Working under the immediate supervision of a registered professional engineer, you work as a team member alongside site managers, general contractors, and engineers to perform the required inspection or sampling services at various environmentally regulated solid waste landfill construction projects. Position Summary:
Quality Assurance technician tests and inspects products in the manufacturing environment to ensure the quality of the product. The technician works on a variety of products in all phases of production. The QA will work in the lab examining products, taking samples, and conducting experiments to ensure that customer and company specifications are met. The QA Technician will report any defects and make recommendations for improvements. The Quality Assurance department of the company aims to stop wasteful production of poor quality products and helps to ensure that customers do not receive malfunctioning products. The Quality Assurance technician monitors the operation to ensure product is manufactured and handled properly (Sanitation Operations & GMP's).
Position Duties/ Responsibilities:
Inspect product through sensory evaluation for defects
Inspect finish product for correctness
Check product for specified colors, textures, etc
Test raw material, ingredients, packaged finished products, packing materials
Determine overall product quality by conducting and evaluating various product tests
Use test equipment to determine if product meets customer specifications
Conduct quality checks on production floor documents to ensure completeness and accuracy
Use measuring equipment, electronic equipment, scales to perform testing and analysis
Consult with QA Supervisor regarding any defects; aids in recommendations for improvement and corrections
Observe product, processes and plant environment for any possible hazards
Examine materials and ingredients from supplier to ensure compliance with specifications
Inspect final product made with materials from supplier
Perform direct observation on SOP' and GMP's and record results
Accurately complete required documents and forms required for recordkeeping
Review HACCP records to ensure that HACCP requirements are met and properly documented
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must move with sense of urgency; time management skills are essential
Ability to think, comprehend and retain large amounts of information
Keen observation and evaluation ability
Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
Ability to work under minimal supervisor; self motivated to produce results
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED
Two (2) year of prior Quality Control experience is required; preferably in a food manufacturing setting
Work Environment:
Will work in environment where safety precautions are required to be followed
Protective gear such as gloves, work boots, and smocks required at all times
Will work around moving machinery
Availability to work outside of normally scheduled shift hours and work overtime when required
Physical Demands:
Light to moderate physical effort required
Regularly required to walk, reach, bend and stand for long periods of time throughout the day
Must be able to lift up to

**What You Will Do:**
We have an opportunity for a Quality Inspector - Grainsize and MCL to be based in Columbus, GA.
**_The shift schedule is AWW2: Fri-Sun 7pm-7am._**
Mech Testing:
+ Perform daily walk arounds to prior to testing
+ Receive-in and inspect testing specimens for accuracy
+ Sort priorities as needed
+ Operate multiple machines for Specimen testing
+ Comply with all training required, including Quality procedures as well as MCL Manuals and Standard Work.
+ Log testing data in UGA
+ Maintain required log books
Grainsize:
+ Perform internal and external grainsize operations on parts
+ Follow blueprints, Work Instructions and GBMOP to mark locations accurately
+ Utilize different chemicals for the etching process
+ Prepare specimens by operating different equipment and polishing methods
+ Use Solumina and UGA for data recording
+ Perform grainsize readings on the microscope
Inspection:
+ Receive specimens from shop
+ Measure specimens on shadow graph and compare to given specifications
+ Prioritize based on specified priorities
+ Move specimens to test in UGA
+ Daily setups and checks of shadow graph
+ Create turnback as needed
Additional responsibilities:
+ Perform 6s each shift
+ Engage in process optimization to allow success of production/quality goals while achieving and maintaining cost savings
+ Complete all training within the expected time given
**Qualifications You Must Have:**
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ Must be willing to work the scheduled shift and may need to train on an alternate shift. Overtime may be required.
+ Familiar with blueprints.
