RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follow all plant safety rules and required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Assists with incoming inspection of purchased materials.
Performs first article inspection, verification, and Equipment Set-up Evaluation (ESE) as required.
Perform in-process sampling inspection per the PCR instructions for Can Assembly and Press Depts.
Challenge in-process inspection cameras daily when production lines are in operation.
Perform dimensional evaluations and document attribute and variable inspection data.
Perform inspections as defined in SOPs.
Assist as needed to label pallets.
Conducts final inspection of completed product in Can Assembly and Press Depts.
Utilizes precision measuring devices and electronic equipment to ensure compliance of parts and products with established specifications.
Maintains a record of inspections, prepares a list of defects, interacts with other departments to ensure compliance with specifications, and facilitates the acceptance of parts.
Performs other duties as assigned

Your role at Baxter
The Quality Technician will primarily support Laboratory operations at the Round Lake Manufacturing facility in Round Lake, IL. This position encompasses testing support for pharmaceutical products (biologics and drugs) through all stages of the manufacturing process including incoming raw materials, in-process samples and finished product and includes facility environmental and critical systems monitoring.

What you'll be doing
Perform visual inspection testing on final products. Work under minimum supervision.
Proactively and collaboratively connect with peers and management to ensure awareness of progress and issues; recommend solutions when issues arise.
Use laboratory instrumentation and computer systems (i.e. LIMS) to collect and record data.
Monitor inventory of supplies, equipment, and reagents; stock supplies as necessary.
Perform routine preventative maintenance activities.
Perform biohazardous waste disposal.
Maintain a clean, safe and organized lab area and perform regular laboratory housekeeping activities.
Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with company SOPs and specifications, FDA, QSR and cGMP regulations.
Follow, understand and align with Baxter SOP's and policies on cGMP's and safety.
Contribute to other laboratory tasks and projects as assigned.
Will work in both Drug Delivery and Penicillin facilities as needed.

Education Req.:
High School Diploma or equivalent GED. Proficient with GD&T, geometry and trigonometry (shop math). Vocational technical program certificate preferred.
Min. Qualifications:
Proficient in reading, understanding and interpreting specifications, blue prints, drawings, test procedures, work instructions, and other applicable production/inspection documentation. Must have a working knowledge of inspection techniques, tools, equipment such as gauges, meters, calipers, micrometers. Must be able to perform visual and dimensional inspections of in process and finished work. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated analytical skills and attention to details.
Experience Req.:
Minimum three (3) years experience in a QC Inspector role in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret charts, graphs, technical procedures, blueprints and engineering drawings with close attention to detail. Working knowledge of quality control methods and techniques such as first article, in-process and final assembly inspections, manufacturing processes, testing procedures and analyzing information to document results in detail. Computer experience utilizing MS Word and/or ERP system.
Primary Functions and responsibilities:
QUALITY INSPECTIONS:
· Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams and engineering specification sheets to obtain product information such as specified materials, cosmetic requirements and dimensions.
· Verifies conformity of finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work
· Verifies conformity of first piece by conforming specifications; conducting visual and measurement test; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work
· Verifies products going to outside service by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work
· Accurately perform and complete First Article inspection reports and Non-conformance reports
· Inspects production components and subassemblies for conformance to predetermined standards, specifications, tolerance and quality procedures.
· Verifies conformity in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervision.
· Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database (log in in E2; KPIs logs etc.)
· Will document results of all inspection findings and results including detailed descriptions/discrepancies and monitor corrective actions to inspection findings
· Performs complex and critical inspection procedures requiring special set-up of new or unique equipment and interpretation of test data from a variety of sources.
· Perform line, in-process, subassembly, shipping and receiving inspections as needed.
MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT:
· Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions;
· Perform routine quality audits of controlled manufacturing area for material identification, traceability, equipment calibration, etc and prepare reports under the direction of Quality Manager and document results.
· Ensure calibration and maintenance is performed on inspection equipment.
OTHER:
· Accomplishes quality and organizational mission by completing related results as needed.
· Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands, changes approach or methods to best fit the situation, able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.

What You Will Do
As a Quality technician, you will be responsible for overall quality of the raw materials and finished products either manufactured or outsourced. This is for a 3:30PM-1:00AM shift. Your main duties include inspecting and testing raw materials and finished products to verify they meet all specifications and company standards. The person must be a champion of Quality to both internal and external customers.
Support verification, validation, and reliability testing of products during the Product Development Process, research projects, and ongoing reliability testing (ORT).
Perform inspections and testing of raw materials and finished products to ensure they meet all specifications and company standards.
Operate and perform minimal preventive maintenance on reliability test systems such as thermal chambers, optical test equipment, UV test equipment, tensile testers, vibration test equipment, thermal shock equipment, twist test equipment, Hi-Pot testers, insulation resistance equipment, lighting surge testers, digital volt meters, dimensional measuring equipment, immersion and rain test systems, and related software.
Manage multiple project priorities while collaborating with key stakeholders and effectively communicating data and results in standard formats.
Generate detailed, accurate, and well-presented reports with excellent writing skills.
Ensure all test and measuring equipment are calibrated, coordinating and scheduling calibration before due dates.
Maintain and order inventory of critical testing materials, components, and accessories (e.g., test leads, adapters).
Support the creation of procedures, 8D reports (root cause analysis and corrective actions), reliability reports, first article inspection reports, and quality status records.

You will be responsible for supporting various assignments supporting Baxter quality systems and ensuring label copy control, sample management, documentation review, Oversight floor shop activities, and other quality department functions.

Makes detailed observations, analyzes data, and interprets results.
Maintains department equipment and inventory levels for controlled materials.
Owns monthly inventory cycle count initiation and variance follow-up.
Perform routine inspections as the provider of floor shop oversight, quality checks, and in-process product inspections of finishing product areas.
Interacts with manufacturing and supervision to address quality process or batch-related concerns.
Performs process compliance audits of all manufacturing areas to ensure quality of product/process (TIQs) is achieved.
Performs troubleshooting, works independently, and makes decisions based on general guidance and existing procedural requirements.
Performs product functional testing in support of equipment validations.
Identifies process improvements and escalates to Line Operations Supervision and/or Management.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
What you'll bring:

6 months of experience in manufacturing/quality preferred.
HS Diploma or equivalent is required.

Position Summary:
To effectively perform all the required duties of the Quality Assurance Technician in an accurate, thorough and safe manner.
