Job Description (Metal Stamping, Deep-Drawn, Springs, Laminations)

Sr. Purchasing Quality and Technology (SQE) Engineers are the direct contact person for Bosch Mobility suppliers regarding technical matters. They should have extensive experience working as an SQE in the material field to ensure effective and correct implementation of processes. This is accomplished by frequent visits to Supplier sites. Senior SQE Engineers work directly with suppliers “on-site” and in close collaboration to optimize supplier's performance to achieve Policy Deployment targets for supplier quality metrics and deployment of strategic Quality initiatives.

Must live within a commutable distance to one of our Bosch sites in: South Carolina, Kentucky, Michigan, Indiana, or Illinois.

Required Skills

Ability to study, understand and provide technical requirements that ensure compliance to Metal stamping; Deep-drawn; Spring; & Motor lamination part specifications.

Understanding of Progressive and Transfer Die Presses, Tooling differences, & likely applications.

Understand of tooling & fixturing for interlocking of thin stamped plate stacks which form the inner core of an electric motor.

Documentation and review of manufacturing process parameter settings

Interface between the Supplier Process experts and Bosch. Tasks include networking with Bosch Engineers located around the world.

Ability to proactively apply Lessons-Learned derived from various Bosch networks.

Responsible for generating improvement strategies for assigned suppliers, whether preventive or corrective. Ability to drive improvement in the following key performance indicators (KPIs) is required per annual policy deployment: Supplier Related Incident Reduction (SRI/bn); Customer Related Incident Reduction (CRI/bn); Support of Regional Strategic Initiatives

Ensure suppliers have quality management systems and perform according to expectations of the automotive industry standards (IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, AIAG Core Tools, Purchasing Procedures, and Initiatives) thereby avoiding impacts to Bosch plants.

Coordinate and participate in cross-functional teams within Bosch and at suppliers to ensure effective problem solving and supplier development. Use of standard tools such as PDCAs, project documentation, supplier charts, etc... to effectively communicate at all levels of organization.

Responsible for leading and execution of Quality Cooperation and Escalations processes according to Automotive Process Landscape when an assigned supplier fails to meet expectations and targets.

Actively participate as a technical expert in VDA 6.3 audits conducted “on-site” at assigned suppliers. Coach the supplier with audit findings, root cause analysis and resolution. Responsible for tracking and on time closure of non-conformances (including Managerial Root Causes) as well as verifying effectiveness of corrective actions.

Support execution of Preventive Quality and Release according to Automotive Process Landscape including participation in technical supplier discussions meetings, capacity verification (Run @ Rate), validation of supplier's manufacturing processes and others as required by project manager.

What youll do on a typical day:

• Perform QA testing per the test documentation, including regression testing, system testing, white box testing and black box testing of new applications and enhancements/modifications of existing applications; update test documentation with information gathered during QA testing
• Create automated tests per the existing automation framework using current company tools and technologies
• Provide system and applications support to users, including troubleshooting and resolving issues; ensure repairs and changes are adequately tested
• Participate in the review and analysis of business requirements, functional specifications and design documents
• Work with project team members on development and customer issues

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, youll need:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent related work experience or military experience
• 1 year of experience in testing and automation
• Solid knowledge of QA testing methodologies, concepts, processes and documentation
• Ability to automate at UI/API/database level and apply the same automation in testing
• Knowledge of logistics and transportation management
• Knowledge of systems may include UNIX, Oracle, PL/SQL, Java/C++, HTML, REST Services, Selenium or related automation tools and Microsoft Suite of applications

Itd be great if you also have:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, MIS or technical area, or any equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3+ years of experience in testing and automation

• Ability to learn and understand the functionality of multiple logistics-related systems; able to learn and achieve proficiency in new software applications, technologies and tools
• Ability to read code and participate in code reviews as needed

The Role:

The Quality Engineering Technician will ensure that all material, but in-process and incoming, meets Tesla's quality requirements and specifications. This person will be responsible to identifying quality issues within the manufacturing environment, leading investigations and root cause analysis, collecting relevant process and product data, and managing non-conforming material. This person will work closely with production and engineering teams to maintain rapid response and to drive continuous improvements to the production process.

Responsibilities:
* Perform various inspections, audits, and testing to evaluate product and process performance.
* Drive root cause investigations for in-process and incoming quality issues.
* Collect and analyze mechanical and electrical test and measurement data with engineering teams.
* Manage, inspect, contain, and disposition non-conforming material.
* Work with engineering teams to validate new product designs, equipment, and processes.
* Assist with PFMEA and control plan activities to identify and mitigate manufacturing risks before they become quality issues.
* Analyze production data to identify potential non-conforming or at-risk material.
* Work with cross-functional teams to meet safety, quality, and production goals.

Requirements
* Experience with quality and process control in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
* Experienced in QS-9000, ISO/TS 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA preferred.
* Highly skilled in complex problem solving and root cause analysis techniques.
* Ability to use a range of basic test and measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, DMMs, etc.
* Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical engineer drawings, with a working knowledge of GD&T.
* Working understanding of basic statistical concepts and methods.
* Experience in SQL, Python, Mintab/JMP, and Solidworks/Catia is preferred.
* Excellent technical communication skills and ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
