Purpose
Accountable for basic operation of the site's quality assurance and control program including but not limited to: assisting and supporting all safety, environmental and quality regulations, product testing and adherence to standards, targets and recipes, maintain relevant equipment and calibrations, and decision-making through basic statistical understanding.
Key Responsibilities
Perform all work in accordance with safety rules and regulations and participate in facility health & safety activities as assigned
Use descriptive statistics to identify non-conforming material to site referenced standards and targets
Ensure all relevant quality requirements are consistently met according to the QA manual and plant SOPs
Ensure that non-conforming product is appropriately quarantined, identified and segregated according to standard procedures
Ensure the communication of non-conformance is clear and concise to required parties.
Disposition basic non-conforming product as allowed by site Technical Manager.
Record testing and inspection results by inputting into appropriate database or spreadsheets while identifying and responding to test results outside of product standards and targets
Verify that all product packaging and appearance standards meet site and client expectations.
Generate and analyze reports and charts
Monitor and document process parameter changes as assigned
Communicate test results and observations to operations and management to maintain process and product conformance
Monitor and record consumption and inventory of raw materials (wax, resin, etc.).
Verify quality of raw materials as required
Support preventive and unscheduled maintenance tasks.
Assist in process and product tests/trials.
Be pro-active in identifying and performing other tasks to maintain and improve safety, quality and environmental performance
Demonstrate adherence to process and product SOPs, JSAs, check sheets and other QMS documentation
Provide support to team members when a quality issue arises
Demonstrate drive and willingness to advance to higher levels of responsibility
Perform in a relief capacity for production coordinator

Required Qualifications
Associate's Degree and two years of experience in laboratory work, quality control, or general manufacturing; or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
Knowledge of and ability to follow all quality and process standards

Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment and production processes
Demonstrated ability to operate sample preparation and testing equipment
Knowledge of inventory management

Responsible for QA data management with in the Quality Tracking Database Software - Unipoint
Non-Conformance verification of parts using the either alternate CMM or manual inspection methods. Checking flatness, perpendicularity, parallelism etc.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Extremely detail oriented and focused on helping to maintain consistent quality standards
Ability to read, understand, and interpret internal and customer provided mechanical prints including GD&T
Strong communication skills and able to work as a team member when parts/assemblies are determined to be out of tolerance during final inspection
Experience with a wide variety of metrology equipment including CMM, Optical comparator, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, etc. required
Experience with manual and/or automated CMM preferred (including formatting of CMM reports)
Experience working within an AS 9100 registered organization is preferred
Able to work overtime and weekend shifts as needed
Preference will be given to candidates with prior CNC machinist experience
CQI or CQT preferred.
Working knowledge of Zeiss CMM's with Calypso software

This seasonal position will support increased production needs through mid-August, with the possibility of continued work after that.
Position Summary: The Quality Technician is responsible for verifying quality procedures on our production floor to ensure that all products meet our internal standards. This role helps monitor GMPs on the production floor and ensure that all personnel and processes adhere to proper Food Safety practices, addressing any quality deviations that may arise. In addition, the Quality Technician is responsible for performing routine checks on all packaging lines and reviewing and verifying all records completed by production and operations. The Quality team works closely with the production team and laboratory team to ensure the production of quality products in a timely fashion.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide guidance and recommendations to employees in production regarding GMPs, product specifications, and food safety practices.
Train new hires in the FSQA Department on key tasks and job responsibilities.
Monitor the production team's adherence to GMPs, product specifications, SOPs, SSOPs, and food safety.
Address all GMP violations with both production management and team members.
Conduct sampling and perform routine checks and testing on multiple packaging lines, including but not limited to verification of packaging lot codes, correct packaging components, package integrity, carbonation, and cap removal torque.
Identify and implement corrective actions when production deviates from the Food Safety Plan and practices.
Furnish accurate verbal and written reports and shift hand-downs to the quality department and plant management regarding product and process quality and consistency, process capabilities, and Food Safety.
Identify and address GMP violations with quality management, production management, and team members.
Assist Operations/Production with creating Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Work Instructions and adhering to processes.
Review and verify all QA/QC records, including shipping & receiving, monitoring, cleaning, and all Process Control Documents.
Function as internal auditor to monitor the plant for compliance with FSMA and 3rd-party regulations and review for compliance with GMPs performing inspections of the production floor as needed.
Support quality management systems, including pest control, chemical verification, traceability, and others as determined by management.
Identify and investigate non-conforming materials, place material on hold as needed and communicate with production on all holds and product disposition.
Conduct a pre-shipment review of the finished product
Assist with investigating customer complaints
Obtain and maintain accurate records to determine the consistency of product quality, compliance with regulatory agency requirements, and documentation of the Food Safety Plan.
Act as backup to the FSQA Document Coordinator for crucial food safety functions
Qualifications & Experience:
BS degree or coursework in related field is a plus (Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, or related discipline), or experience in Quality Assurance
Intermediate MS Office or Google Platform experience
Previous food manufacturing experience is a plus
