Work Environment
This role is based at the Kalamazoo facility, a satellite operation with a total of 50-60 employees. The Quality Team includes 2 Quality Engineers, 2 Quality Technicians, and Quality Inspectors. The Quality Technician will work in the quality lab, directly supporting the engineering team and receiving direction from the 2 Quality Engineers. Standard work hours range from 40-45 hours per week. The facility specializes in end-to-end contract manufacturing and assembly of medical devices, registered with the U.S. FDA and Health Canada.

Job Description

Submit PPAP documents.
Perform incoming inspection tasks according to AS 9100 procedures.
Perform final inspection and shipping tasks according to AS 9100 procedures.
Perform process audits and follow-up with corrective actions.
Ensure the quality of all material meets customer specifications through applicable quality policies, procedures and instructions.
Cross train across multiple departments
Perform data collection and communication tasks in ERP system and other applications.
Perform miscellaneous quality-related clerical duties.
Comply with all PAC policies.

Physical Requirements:
Vision to AS 9100 standards documented by yearly vision exams.
Able to stand, sit/or ambulate across the production space for long periods of time. Up to 95% of the scheduled shift.
Effectively handle and manipulate parts in order to identify needed specifications.

Daily must communicate with all shift quality inspectors, shift managers, quality managers, process techs, mold setters, operators, and plant manager.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Document dimensional measurements; inputting data into quality data base at startup, during manufacturing process and last shot per standards.
Visually compare product against one another to assess/detect manufacturing variations in processes.
Provide technical support for production.
Responsible for declaring any non-conformities relating to the product, process, and quality system.
Responsible for performing daily process and product audits and supporting immediate corrections to non-conformances that can be corrected on the spot.
Reports/Records quality problems or findings to shift process tech and follows up with quality forms to ensure that corrective action has/will take place.
If there is a problem and product does not meet specification, work with process tech to figure out the root cause.
Sort, rework product from containment area as required, confirming rework.
Oversee assigned presses, assist operators on part visual acceptability and process procedures as required. Relieve operators during break periods if needed.

Job Description
To support the Quality Department's ability to achieve its goals. This includes accurately and timely auditing of company process, incoming material, work-in-process and customer shipments to achieve PAC Quality and Business objectives and to comply with AS 9100 standards. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications
Perform first article (FAIR) tasks including documentation and reports.
Perform 1st piece, in-process and last piece inspection using micrometers, calipers, comparators, various gauges and CMM equipment according to PAC standards and AS 9100 procedures.
Submit PPAP documents.
Perform incoming inspection tasks according to AS 9100 procedures.
Perform final inspection and shipping tasks according to AS 9100 procedures.
Perform process audits and follow-up with corrective actions.
Ensure the quality of all material meets customer specifications through applicable quality policies, procedures and instructions.
Cross train across multiple departments
Perform data collection and communication tasks in ERP system and other applications.
Perform miscellaneous quality-related clerical duties.
Comply with all PAC policies.
Additional Information
Physical Requirements:
Vision to AS 9100 standards documented by yearly vision exams.
Able to stand, sit/or ambulate across the production space for long periods of time. Up to 95% of the scheduled shift.
Effectively handle and manipulate parts in order to identify needed specifications.
Effectively operate complex measuring instruments.
Successful completion of a medical exam and drug screening required prior to employment at PAC.

Review job documentation and report any deviations from blueprints or instructions.
Assist with product launches, PPAPs, machine setups, and prototype inspections.
Support other tasks as assigned to meet company goals.
What we are looking for:
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous manufacturing experience in a quality role
Basic computer knowledge.
