As the Food Safety Technician, you will be responsible for managing and supporting Food Safety programs. You will conduct routine audits of the facility and outside storage facilities including food safety and the warehouse. You will also monitor physical, chemical, and biological food safety hazards and implement control measures.
The first several months of this role are project related with the goal of planning and developing the department as we approach operational startup.
This position will require travel up to 25% for training purposes to other Nestle Purina factory locations within the U.S. Travel will significantly reduce once the Williamsburg Township plant reaches operation.
The shift once the Williamsburg Township facility is operational will be 6am-6pm, operating on 2-2-3 schedule (two days on, two days off, three days on).
Manage the factory's integrated pest management program in accordance with state and federal regulations
Develop, implement, maintain, and administer the factory sanitation programs to ensure that all products are manufactured in a sanitary environment
Install, inspect and service pest monitoring and control devices
Conduct factory food safety inspections regularly and escalate appropriately
Collaborate on HACCP verification activities
Coordinate and collaborate with factory Food Safety Programs, including but not limited to Chemical Control and Waste Management
Provide support and guidance to all departments regarding Food Safety issues
Coordinate training and development of employees for all factory food safety programs
Manage chemical supplies and sanitation services including, waste removal, custodian, yards, and grounds
Support departmental coverage as needed
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
1+ years of experience in quality, food manufacturing, lab or related environment

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Quality Technician is responsible for driving the 80 Acres Farms quality and food safety program across all processes at the farm. With strong knowledge of 80 Acres Farms Food Safety and Quality procedures the Quality Technician will perform process audits, product monitoring and verification checks, shelf-life evaluations and collection of food safety and quality data as applicable. The Quality Technician works with and supports the quality organization and technical center departments to continuously improve the performance of the key product and system components in an expanding product portfolio. This role assists the quality engineer, manufacturing, and operations to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities
Support incoming inspection, autopsy activities, and production control operations.
Support production line First time quality yield by accurately reporting quality issues to management to drive action with key functional internal and/ or external stakeholders.
Inspect, evaluate, and provide disposition of components used in the production of electromechanical products.
Support quality requirements for components to ensure correct parts are received and verified for product quality.
Obtain detailed print specifications from internal customers.
Support the development of the inspection methods and ensure compliance with product specifications.
Review product inspection history to make future inspection decisions.
Communicate with quality engineers regarding quality requirements.
Participate in Material Review board (MRB) & Nonconformance Report (NCR) meetings to support a resolution of supplier quality issues.
Send Quality reports to Purchasing and internal customers as required.
Work with purchasing to replace defective components.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Adhere to federal and state regulations.
Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Position Qualifications
Associate Degree and a minimum of three (3) years minimum experience with supplier quality or a High School Diploma.
Minimum of five (5) years in a supplier quality role are required.
Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, gages, and a variety of other-dimensional tools is required.
Working knowledge of quality systems and processes.
Proficient with Excel, agile data analysis tools are required.
The ability to create PowerPoint presentations is preferred.
