Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is currently seeking **Manufacturing Technicians** to join our team. This position will be supporting the Propulsion Systems Division at our **Copper Crossing Value Stream (CXVS) facility** in **Salt Lake City, Utah** .
**_Role description & Responsibilities:_**
A **Manufacturing Technician** performs hands on activities/tasks associated with manufacturing of composite rocket cases. Tasks may include but are not limited to Tooling Assembly/Disassembly, Case Surface Preparation, winding composite equipment operation, maintaining cleanliness of the work area and facilities, and other duties as assigned by the supervisor. These candidates must participate as a team member to positively influence and enhance the safety, quality, cost and schedule of their team.
This is a **weekday, night shift position** . Overtime is worked as necessary.
**_Requirements:_**
- Must be willing to perform shift work and overtime, as required. This could include weekends and holidays.
- Must possess a valid state driver's license
- Required to perform safe handling of hazardous waste materials for disposal.
- Possess ability to understand and apply stringent procedures to assigned duties.
- Safe handling of equipment and materials in a manufacturing environment
- Operating industrial equipment such as bridge cranes, forklifts, precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Able to monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process control and design specifications.

- Ability to start and end helicals and hoops in carbon winding process, following planning requirements.
- Able to continuously monitor machinery to ensure winding is completed according to established planning and procedures.

Primary Level Salary Range: $43,100.00 - $71,900.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $51,200.00 - $85,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Overview

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Serves as the quality assurance coordinator who provides site Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) guidance and monitors the work activity of MPC employees and contractors on site/off site for compliance with Marathon-specific policies and procedures as it relates to work on Fixed Equipment, Rotating, Insulation/Coatings, Civil work, and Tanks.
* Interfaces with the contractors performing mechanical routine maintenance activities, providing guidance as needed to ensure compliance with required standards and procedures.
* Coaches third-party QC contractors and facilitates meetings on the QA/QC process.
* Follows piping and pressure vessel fabrication or repairs at outside vendor facilities; reviews and approves vendor Nondestructive Examination (NDE) procedures and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
* Assists routine maintenance and project engineering to ensure the proper MPC site quality documents are included in Request for Quotation (RFQ) for piping and fixed equipment.
* Assists unit inspectors, reliability/project engineers, to develop pressure equipment repair plans to comply with API/ASME codes and MPC standards and specifications.
* Performs QA activities associated with Routine Maintenance work as well as projects and Turnarounds.
* Plans QA coverage for extended work periods such as projects, outages, and turnarounds.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum (Required) Qualifications
* High School Diploma or GED is required.
* 2 years (2) or more of inspection experience in fixed equipment, reliability, and maintenance required.
* Availability for a Monday-Thursday 10-hour shift schedule, on-call weekend rotations, and support for Turnaround and shutdowns as required.
* Valid Driver's License upon hire.
* Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the refinery (respirator), be able to physically perform all tasks in the field and take hair drug test and physical.

Job Overview:
The Mold Process Technician is a key member of the production team, responsible for supporting startup activities at the beginning of each shift, conducting equipment repairs, and troubleshooting molding processes. This role may be required to operate molding equipment, including mold presses, as needed to support production demands.
Responsibilities:
* Perform and direct the mold and material changing processes
* Assure that mold set up, changeovers, and housekeeping standards are met
* Ensure new job start-ups run correctly, making any necessary adjustments
* Work with production personnel to ensure molded parts meet requirements, and make adjustments as necessary
* Troubleshoot and correct processing issues including normal adjustments and checks
* Ensure molding machines and supporting systems are set to correct parameters to meet the mold requirements ensuring production goals are met.
* Verify process parameters and implement changes as appropriate, to improve cycle times.
* Have a continuous improvement mindset by identifying and making process improvements to drive cost reductions such as scrap reduction, decreased change-over time, cycle time improvement opportunities, etc.
* Inspect parts to ensure they meet the customer specifications'
* Repair, maintain and keep spare components inventory to keep molds functioning correctly.
* Recognize and stop production to correct any quality or safety issues
* Review and inspect machines daily for maintenance issues and report discrepancies to the maintenance department.
* Monitor, train, and coach the machine operators to ensure they are following proper manufacturing procedures
* Work with Engineering to assist with installation and startup of new equipment.
* Comply with all safety, quality, company policy and regulations
* Other duties as assigned which may include support for the broader maintenance team in all areas such as facility related repairs.
