The Field QA Specialist is responsible for the quality of decommissioning work. The project current project schedule is 5 ten hour shifts.
The Field QA Specialist will be responsible for ensuring project quality assurance and contractor assurance requirements through oversight activities verifying implementation of the project specific plans; Maintains independence while monitoring ongoing work activities of the project, suppliers, and/or subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Implement the Project Quality Assurance Program Plan (QAPP): Support the day-to-day operation of the project's quality program, approved procedures, and work instructions (packages) at the field level.
Conduct Surveillances and Observations:Assists the NQAPM with scheduling, performing, and documenting project assessments (surveillances and observations) of ongoing work activities to ensure compliance with approved plans, procedures, and specifications. Document the areas or activities observed; when findings, opportunities for improvement, and recommendations are discovered, create CAPA reports in accordance with approved procedures. Ability to become a certified auditor.
Support external partners or regulatorswith assessments, when scheduled.
Perform Inspections:Conduct receipt inspections of incoming materials (excluding non-significant items) to verify conformance with procurement specifications/requirements; identify shipping damage and detect potential suspect/counterfeit items. Document inspection results and any non-conformances.
Purchasing Activity: Assist the project team in the develope of statements of work (SOW) ensuring QA controls are appropriate to the procurement. Work with the project buyers, to ensure quality clauses are appropriate to the procurement. Act as a local point of contact for S/CI activities, including receiving reports, controlling suspect items, and reporting them appropriately.
Monitor or Peform QC Activities: Observe, perform, and monitor ongoing quality control activities performed by project personnel and subcontractors to ensure they are being conducted in accordance with authorized policies, procedures, contract specifications, approved Work Plans. Document the activities monitored and any deviations observed.
Support CAPA Management Program: Act as CAPA coordinator and initiate and/or provide input to the development and implementation of corrective action plans to address identified deficiencies. Track CAPA actions to closure.
Support nonconformances: When identified, and when required, segregate, document in the NCR log and assist with disposition. Control NCR tags (placement, removal).
Provide Quality Support to Field Teams: Assist in work package developement and maintaince. Serve as a point of contact and resource for the Site Manager and on-site personnel for quality-related questions, guidance, and support.
Monitor Training and Qualifications: Working closely with HSE and RAD CON, verify that personnel performing work have the required training and qualifications prior to commencing work activities, including on-site subcontractors.
Participate in Pre-Job Briefings:Attend and participate in pre-job briefings to understand the work scope, identify potential quality concerns, and ensure quality requirements are communicated to the field team.
Field Data Monitoring:Assist in the daily review of field data collection to ensure completeness and accuracy. Assist with collecting QA records.
Monitor Field M&TE:Working with HSE and RAD CON maintain field Measurement & Test Equipment logs and monitor calibration due dates; receive items per purchase order requirements; assist NQAPM with supplier certifications.
Support external partners or regulators with assessments, when scheduled.
Other duties as assigned by the NQAPMand/or Project Manager.
Assist with inputs on project or QA reporting, as applicable.
Basic Qualifications:
This is an entry level- mid level position. Compensation will be evaluted experience.
B.S. degree in engineering, industrial engineering, quality management, or related technical field is preferred.
3 years experience with a Quality Management System.
In leu of degree, 6 years relevant DOE experience preferred.
Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control principles and practices.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., DOE Order 414.1D, ISO 9001) prefered.
Ability to understand and interpret technical documents, drawings, and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience in conducting inspections and surveillances in a field environment is preferred.
Familiarity with Microsoft suite, electronic data management systems (EDMS), and other business software applications is beneficial.
Some working knowlege of relevant industrial codes, standards and specifications (i.e. ASME, API, ASTM, AWS, etc.)
Experienced with client and client representative interaction.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $80,000 - $130,000 Per Year. Responsibilities
* Performs inspections as scheduled, ensuring the quality of workmanship meets standard industry practices and complies with Manufacturing (MFG) Work Instructions
* Perform preliminary, in-progress and final inspections on all articles processed
* Ensure that MFG records, work order reports and forms are completed accurately prior to releasing the components, vehicles for return to service
* Inspect for defects and damage, proper identification, and dimensions using measuring devices
* Follow and document complex processes, input data and inspection results
* Be familiar with inspection methods, techniques and equipment used in their specialty to determine quality or airworthiness in alignment with our safety protocols
* Communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with engineering, management and production personnel to convey product acceptance criteria and inspection results
* Generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Non Routine (NRIs) as required.
* Perform receiving inspection duties as needed for all incoming material
* Oversee the proper tagging and identification of all parts and components to ensure that rejected or non-repairable parts are properly marked, quarantined, and rendered unusable
* Conduct work in a manner that enhances own/other employees health and safety, product safety and promotes risk reduction
* Participate openly in safety-related event investigations, and immediately report workplace hazards and make suggestions for control
* Cooperate and contribute toward the overall success of the Safety program at the local level
* Continuously practice safety behavior and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) awareness/prevention; adhere to regulatory protocols and rules
* Be able to do technical investigations to support quality processes and support Root Cause Corrective Action activities

* Knowledge of AS9100 and other relevant aerospace industry standards and regulations

* Experience with nonconforming material control processes
* Specific vision abilities (corrected or uncorrected) to include color perception, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus to be able to detect even the smallest of flaws or defects in the materials used

**Work Location & Temporary Assignment requirements:**
We are hiring this role in Las Cruces (Truth or Consequences), NM on a full-time basis, however, for the first 9 months of employment, you will be required to be based in Mesa, AZ on a temporary assignment at our Spaceship Factory supporting our manufacturing team building Spaceships. During your temporary assignment, Virgin Galactic will pay for all living and travel expenses. At the end of your assignment, you will go back to your full-time location to maintain and operate our vehicles during flight operations in Las Cruces (Truth or Consequences), NM.

**Responsibilities**
+ Performs inspections as scheduled, ensuring the quality of workmanship meets standard industry practices and complies with Manufacturing (MFG) Work Instructions
+ Perform preliminary, in-progress and final inspections on all articles processed
+ Ensure that MFG records, work order reports and forms are completed accurately prior to releasing the components, vehicles for return to service
+ Inspect for defects and damage, proper identification, and dimensions using measuring devices
+ Follow and document complex processes, input data and inspection results
+ Be familiar with inspection methods, techniques and equipment used in their specialty to determine quality or airworthiness in alignment with our safety protocols
+ Communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with engineering, management and production personnel to convey product acceptance criteria and inspection results
+ Generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Non Routine (NRIs) as required.
+ Perform receiving inspection duties as needed for all incoming material
+ Oversee the proper tagging and identification of all parts and components to ensure that rejected or non-repairable parts are properly marked, quarantined, and rendered unusable
+ Conduct work in a manner that enhances own/other employees health and safety, product safety and promotes risk reduction
+ Participate openly in safety-related event investigations, and immediately report workplace hazards and make suggestions for control
+ Cooperate and contribute toward the overall success of the Safety program at the local level

**Required Skills and Experience**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.
+ Minimum of five years' experience in a related field, may include, but not limited to; aerospace parts and components and hands‐on experience in manufacturing, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), or airline environment with a special emphasis in prototype aircraft; to include material and logistics operations

The Field QA Specialist is responsible for the quality of decommissioning work. The project current project schedule is 5 ten hour shifts. The Field QA Specialist will be responsible for ensuring project quality assurance and contractor assurance requirements through oversight activities verifying implementation of the project specific plans; Maintains independence while monitoring ongoing work activities of the project, suppliers, and/or subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
* Implement the Project Quality Assurance Program Plan (QAPP): Support the day-to-day operation of the project's quality program, approved procedures, and work instructions (packages) at the field level.
* Conduct Surveillances and Observations:Assists the NQAPM with scheduling, performing, and documenting project assessments (surveillances and observations) of ongoing work activities to ensure compliance with approved plans, procedures, and specifications. Document the areas or activities observed; when findings, opportunities for improvement, and recommendations are discovered, create CAPA reports in accordance with approved procedures. Ability to become a certified auditor.
* Support external partners or regulatorswith assessments, when scheduled.
* Perform Inspections:Conduct receipt inspections of incoming materials (excluding non-significant items) to verify conformance with procurement specifications/requirements; identify shipping damage and detect potential suspect/counterfeit items. Document inspection results and any non-conformances.
* Purchasing Activity: Assist the project team in the develope of statements of work (SOW) ensuring QA controls are appropriate to the procurement. Work with the project buyers, to ensure quality clauses are appropriate to the procurement. Act as a local point of contact for S/CI activities, including receiving reports, controlling suspect items, and reporting them appropriately.
* Monitor or Peform QC Activities: Observe, perform, and monitor ongoing quality control activities performed by project personnel and subcontractors to ensure they are being conducted in accordance with authorized policies, procedures, contract specifications, approved Work Plans. Document the activities monitored and any deviations observed.
* Support CAPA Management Program: Act as CAPA coordinator and initiate and/or provide input to the development and implementation of corrective action plans to address identified deficiencies. Track CAPA actions to closure.
* Support nonconformances: When identified, and when required, segregate, document in the NCR log and assist with disposition. Control NCR tags (placement, removal).
* Provide Quality Support to Field Teams: Assist in work package developement and maintaince. Serve as a point of contact and resource for the Site Manager and on-site personnel for quality-related questions, guidance, and support.
* Monitor Training and Qualifications: Working closely with HSE and RAD CON, verify that personnel performing work have the required training and qualifications prior to commencing work activities, including on-site subcontractors.
* Participate in Pre-Job Briefings:Attend and participate in pre-job briefings to understand the work scope, identify potential quality concerns, and ensure quality requirements are communicated to the field team.
* Field Data Monitoring:Assist in the daily review of field data collection to ensure completeness and accuracy. Assist with collecting QA records.
* Monitor Field M&TE:Working with HSE and RAD CON maintain field Measurement & Test Equipment logs and monitor calibration due dates; receive items per purchase order requirements; assist NQAPM with supplier certifications.
* Support external partners or regulators with assessments, when scheduled.
* Other duties as assigned by the NQAPMand/or Project Manager.
* Assist with inputs on project or QA reporting, as applicable.
Basic Qualifications:
* This is an entry level- mid level position. Compensation will be evaluted experience.
* B.S. degree in engineering, industrial engineering, quality management, or related technical field is preferred.
* 3 years experience with a Quality Management System.
* In leu of degree, 6 years relevant DOE experience preferred.
* Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control principles and practices.
* Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., DOE Order 414.1D, ISO 9001) prefered.
* Ability to understand and interpret technical documents, drawings, and specifications.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Experience in conducting inspections and surveillances in a field environment is preferred.
* Familiarity with Microsoft suite, electronic data management systems (EDMS), and other business software applications is beneficial.
* Some working knowlege of relevant industrial codes, standards and specifications (i.e. ASME, API, ASTM, AWS, etc.)
* Experienced with client and client representative interaction.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $80,000 - $130,000 Per Year. WHAT DOES YOUR DAY ENTAIL?
As a Morning Food Quality Control Tech, you will be responsible for ensuring that all U.S.D.A. and S.S.O.P. documentation is properly handled and maintained. Your daily tasks will include conducting tests on seasonings, batters, breadings, and marinades to ensure product consistency and compliance with established standards. You will also conduct randomized product checks, monitoring weight, length, and thickness to confirm that production aligns with customer specifications.
Additionally, you will perform hourly product pickups, metal detection checks, and box weight tracking while also conducting organoleptic testing (cooking and evaluating product quality). Monitoring and enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) will be a key responsibility, as well as performing pre-operational inspections and assisting in training backup Quality Control Technicians. Participation in weekly QA meetings will provide the opportunity to collaborate with the team on industry developments, customer feedback, and process improvements.
