Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field (or equivalent experience); 2- or 4-year degree or 2-4 years of related experience/training acceptable. Experience in manufacturing environments, preferably in labels or similar industries. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Math skills (including Algebra) and knowledge of printing/converting materials and technologies. Understand all procedures for operating machines Inspections: Have a good working knowledge of the production area lines and processes you are assigned. Understand hourly production progress via goal board display or established metrics. Be able to take work direction from management personnel. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and specific customer work instructions in terms of date coding product, expiration dates, quality of product being packaged, etc. All production inspections will be documented via the established documents at appointed intervals throughout the work shift. Management will provide the intervals. Inspections must be accurate and thorough in documenting findings during the inspection process. Alert management immediately on all non-conformance issues. Initiative: Immediately report any issue relating to personnel, productivity Value Add Inspection form and submitted at end of shift. Make recommendations to improve efficiency in the daily processes Safety: Understand all procedures for operating machines Report all incidents/accidents or unsafe acts immediately to your supervisor/ manager. Promote safety awareness with your teammates and provide safety suggestions. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Ensure all safety guards are in place on all equipment. Ensure all safety policies, practices and SOPs are being followed. Quality: Perform visual inspections for the following items (not an inclusive listing): carton formation, date coding being applied to finished good carton, quality of product packaging, product expiration dates, production dates, product correctness going in to cartons, product is damage free, pallet build formation (TiHi), machine wrap application, pallet label application, etc… Follow established protocols during the inspection process. Responsible for performing initial product inspection at the beginning of every new production run ensuring overall quality of the product being produced. Responsible for conducting periodic interval inspections as designated by management. Ensure all completed documents are accurate in terms of recorded information. Including but not limited to completed documents, legibility of information being recorded, all non-conformances documented, all quality checks are clearly defined in terms of recorded times, initials, date, filing completed documents at the end of the work shift.
