Summary/Objective: The Quality Technician is primarily responsible for testing and inspecting products at various stages of the production process and complies and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
Essential Functions: The list of duties and responsibilities are not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
Completion and tracking of all capability studies, including statistical analysis
Completion and tracking of all material testing (MITR)
Perform tube lay-out analysis (TLA)
Perform special investigations
Perform receiving quality audits (RQA)
Assist with projects as assigned by the Laboratory Supervisor
Assist manufacturing with the interpretation of quality standards
Continuous improvement projects as assigned by Department Supervisor and/or Department Manager
Ra testing product/raw material
Rockwell testing product/raw material
Perform PPAP/ISIR studies
Perform daily repair and calibration of all gauging within the facility
Filing and recordkeeping for the laboratory
Perform GR&R for all families of inspection, measuring and test equipment
Address daily quality issues related to manufacturing for both facilities
Maintain sample catalog/cabinet
General lab housekeeping
Daily recording of quality results of order verification checks during production runs (all mills)
Provide technical service and support to all departments as needed
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
Physical Demands:

What your day will look like:
Set up and run CMMs/FCS fixtures per Product Control Plan; review inspection reports and report issues.

Job Description
SUMMARY: The Quality Technician is primarily responsible for ensuring product quality by conducting inspections, verifying compliance with quality standards, supporting assembly, molding and paint operations, and maintaining accurate documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
· Perform first-piece inspections on all active molding and assembly presses at the start of the shift including color checks, SPC measurements, and gaging.
· Collect parts from molding and assembly for SPC checks once per shift.
· Make quality decisions per the proper standards and samples.
· Review, create, and sign off on labels, mold/color change logs, and other required documentation for management.
· Review and update quality alerts; ensure alerts are properly addressed.
· Conduct mid-shift audits via various documents and record findings.
· Contain and clearly label any defective parts found during the shift.
· Respond to operator-reported issues and ensure defective items are held from production.
· Sort parts on hold during downtime and return acceptable parts to production or remove from the system.
· Assist in updating Work Instructions (WI) and document changes.
· Support color checks, gloss testing, and film build measurements.
· Clearly label, contain, and segregate suspect or rejected parts in accordance with company protocols.
· Any other project deemed necessary by Department head(s).
· Maintain compliance of IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 / ISO 14001.
Follows all safety, housekeeping and company policies and procedures.
Coordinates and maintains all job responsibilities in a continuous and flexible manner and performs other related duties and job assignments as required.

Quality Technicians are responsible for assuring that manufactured items are made or assembled correctly, and that the products meet customer standards. Quality Technicians work with the manufacturing Process Technicians and Operators to maintain quality standards by approving in-process production, conducting visual checks, and approving finished products, recording the quality results while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This position reports to Quality Assurance Quality Manager/Supervisor/ Engineer or Plant Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
MUST HAVE: 1year minimum inspection experience with knowledge of basic equipment; calipers, micrometers, pin gauges and other gages required.
Good communication skills are a must.
Daily must communicate with all shift quality inspectors, shift managers, quality managers, process techs, mold setters, operators, and plant manager.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Document dimensional measurements; inputting data into quality data base at startup, during manufacturing process and last shot per standards.
Visually compare product against one another to assess/detect manufacturing variations in processes.
Provide technical support for production.
Responsible for declaring any non-conformities relating to the product, process, and quality system.
Responsible for performing daily process and product audits and supporting immediate corrections to non-conformances that can be corrected on the spot.
Reports/Records quality problems or findings to shift process tech and follows up with quality forms to ensure that corrective action has/will take place.
If there is a problem and product does not meet specification, work with process tech to figure out the root cause.
Sort, rework product from containment area as required, confirming rework.
Oversee assigned presses, assist operators on part visual acceptability and process procedures as required. Relieve operators during break periods if needed.
Assist in the training of operators as needed.
*Perform other duties as required or assigned in the support of the company's needs, goals, and objectives.
