About this Role
The Safety Coordinator at Ampacity is responsible for coordinating, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive safety programs across our clean energy projects. This role serves as the primary liaison between field operations, management, and safety personnel to ensure regulatory compliance, support safety culture development, and maintain the highest standards of workplace safety across our organization.
This is a remote position that requires regular travel to client/project sites.Base rate $27-30/hour + per diem (75% travel) + OT opportunities
What You'll Do

What You'll Bring
* High school diploma or equivalent with relevant safety training and certifications

Accredited four (4) year degree or equivalent in applicable field of study and six (6) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten (10) years if non-degreed.
Professional safety certification (CSP, ASP, CHST, or equivalent).
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state, federal and client-specific health and safety regulations.
Ability to provide strong mentorship skills, fostering the growth and competence of less experienced project Health and Safety team members.

This salary exempt position will report directly to the Assistant Director of Safety. Responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the facility health and safety program. This will include, but is not limited to, training, sampling, monitoring, site inspections, accident investigations, accident prevention, liaison with governmental agencies, record keeping, workmen's compensation, recommendations for continual improvement and reporting.
Responsibilities:
Review and interpret health, safety and environmental laws, rules and regulations
Development, implementation and monitoring of, but not limited to, the following training: new miner, newly hired experienced miner, task, annual refresher and hazard communication
Development, implementation and monitoring of site inspections and corrective action programs. Must coordinate team efforts to solve problems and implement required actions. Must maintain appropriate administrative documentation for these programs
Coordination of accident investigations and accident reports. Develop, analyze, and report facility statistics and make recommendations to key management personnel
Conduct workmen's compensation related accident investigations
Collect and distribute appropriate statistical information regarding safety for the facility and for appropriate governmental agencies (MSHA, OSHA, etc.)
Write policies that achieve governing agency compliance and are applicable to the operation
Administer facility substance abuse testing programs for both salaried and hourly personnel. Maintain appropriate records and provide reports as required
Qualifications, Benefits & Disclaimer:
Bachelor of Science degree in Safety and Health, Engineering or a related technical field
A minimum of seven (7) years' experience of manufacturing safety management. (Experience in a mining operation preferred.)
Detailed working knowledge of MSHA and/or OSHA regulations, policies, and procedures
Solid computer skills; must be capable of working with common business software (word processing, spreadsheets, emails, etc.) effectively
Analytical and strategic planning. Must be capable of handling numerous projects concurrently
Effective team leadership and team participation
Effective oral and written communication ability
Must be capable of walking long distances and climbing vertical ladders to heights of 60 feet above ground
Must be able to climb stairways and ladders as necessary to visit all areas in the plant
Must be able to navigate uneven surfaces and to effectively communicate with employees and managers
Must be able to work in a hot, dusty environment as needed. Will be in the plant daily
Standing and walking frequently up to 75% of the time; sitting frequently up to 75% of the time
Climbing occasionally up to 15% of work time
Lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds occasionally up to 10% of the work time
Must be able to travel 10-20% of the time for meetings, education, seminars, and internal audits at other Titan America locations.

What You'll Do

Design and maintain New Hire Safety Orientation program including providing the required training for newly hired teammates.
Handle Workers' Compensation matters including ensuring accident reporting procedures are followed at all facilities.
Maintain OSHA 300 Log, complete annual reports, and post.
Oversee both external and internal safety audits and inspections; manage corrective actions with any non-compliances.
Work with employees at all levels of the organization.

General construction background needed, safety background preferred but not required. Will NEED to have a driver's license, clean driving record, and will need to be able to speak Spanish.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular job-site inspections and audits across project locations to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and enforce company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices.
Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions in both English and Spanish.
