Quincy Compressor company history timeline

1920

The Wall Pump and Compressor Co., with headquarters and manufacturing located on Quincy’s riverfront, was born in July 1920.

Founded in 1920 by three former employees of a vacuum design company; George Gille, John Kathe and George Wall, Quincy air compressors have come a long way.

1923

By the close of 1923, the company had expanded its production line hundredfold.

1924

By 1924, the company had expanded its line beyond its original products, vacuum pumps designed for milking cows and its name to Quincy Compressor Company.

1937

From its humble beginnings in 1937, the QR-25 series continues to thrill the market by offering the same durability and performance capabilities as initially designed.

In 1937, Quincy Compressor introduced the Quincy QR-25, which has become an industry symbol of quality over the past 82 years.

1980

By 1980, the demand for Quincy air compressors was overwhelming leading to an additional production store opening doors at Bay Minette, Alabama.

2004

The first official production was in July 2004, and the official opening of the facility was in September 2004.
