Employment Status: Full-Time
This leadership position plays a vital role in overseeing the City's advanced wastewater treatment operations, including biosolids management and effluent disposal programs. The successful candidate will provide operational, administrative, and supervisory leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant wastewater services for the community.
What You'll Do:
* Lead and coordinate the daily operation and maintenance of advanced wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring reliable and efficient service delivery.
* Supervise and support shift supervisors and assigned team members, fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing work environment.
* Plan, schedule, and optimize treatment processes while maintaining accurate records to ensure compliance with FDEP permits and environmental regulations.
* Champion a strong culture of safety by promoting safe work practices, supporting safety training, reporting incidents, and participating in after-action safety reviews.
* Provide performance coaching, feedback, and formal evaluations; facilitate personnel actions including hiring, discipline, and timecard approvals in accordance with City policies.
* Manage assigned financial resources, contribute to operating and capital budget development, monitor expenditures, and identify opportunities for efficient use of funds and grant funding.

Minimum Training & Experience
* Associates degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field; and
* Six (6) years of professional experience in wastewater treatment operations; and
* Two (2) years of supervisory experience in wastewater treatment operations; OR
* High School Diploma or GED; and
* Eight (8) years of professional experience in wastewater treatment operations; and
* Two (2) years of supervisory experience in wastewater treatment operations
Necessary Special Requirements
* Class A Florida Wastewater Plant Operator's Certificate
* Valid Class E State (or equivalent) driver's license
Salary Range
$29.0888 to $78.9348/hourly. Hiring rate generally will not exceed $55.3486/hour
