The formal schedule of PM activities (Master Schedule) is the responsibility of the Maintenance Inspector for development, review and modification. Following repairs and new installations, the Maintenance Inspector performs follow-up inspections and verifies tolerances in critical issues to assure compliance to acceptance standards and the PM Guidelines. Along with the Planner, the Inspector may need to inspect repairs and/or rebuilds being made off-site, and the responsibility is shared for the quality of specialized items received by Stores. The Maintenance Inspector is the recognized technical expert in their area of the plant and they provide advice and support accordingly. They make the most technical decisions regarding plant equipment for the Planner, and coaches other maintenance practitioners whether involved in Inspection or Execution functions. They interact with production personnel regarding operating procedures, which have an impact on equipment. They're a participant in the budgeting process and is the prime source of advice in the planning and scheduling of major maintenance activities. The Maintenance Inspector keeps up-to-date on advances in reliability technology and equipment through participation in the Continental network as well as by maintaining relationships with other practitioners and appropriate suppliers. They use Maximo to help manage activities and to generate the maintenance KPI's which measure the effectiveness of their function. They are also knowledgeable in current safety regulations and guidelines and plays an active role in promotion of plant safety. Role & Responsibilities Responsibilities: Systematic inspections of all assigned plant equipment Analysis of data collected, completed work orders, and process data to initiate appropriate maintenance work orders which include a detailed scope of work Non-systematic inspections (repetitive problems, validate work requests, daily incidents) Manage Drive the PM Program Quality Assurance of Execution work done on and off site, and of materials received Support Plant Safety Program Document and monitor equipment history files Provide technical support for plant activities and the maintenance functions Coach/mentor plant employees Effective communication Active role in budget preparation, forecast updating and compliance Assigned administrative duties Participate in vibration analysis activities, oil analysis, non-destructive testing, ultrasonic activities, infrared activities and all other advanced detection activities as required. Conduct personal special equipment inspections on mill liners, Twinducers, drives and the clinker cooler including critical welds using dye penetrate and magnetic particle techniques Interface with Maintenance and Operations to schedule and prioritize inspections and repair work and identify any equipment problems, which may be impacting the process negatively. The Maintenance Inspector may be asked to provide relief coverage for other members of the maintenance or production department and be on-call to cover mechanical problems which occur evenings and weekends. Other duties as assigned #INDSS Qualifications: Post-secondary level education from a two-year college, technical school or equivalent preferred. If he/she does not have a post-secondary degree, then 4 years' experience in heavy industrial maintenance is required. Mechanical aptitude. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must be able to work as a part of a team to ensure continuous improvement in their functional area as well as the overall plant operations. Must be able to meet on-call responsibilities in a 24/7 operation. Must have good leadership skills. Must display good employability skills (attendance, job performance, attitude, willingness to work, etc.). Proficient in English language Ability to pass pre-employment screening which includes physical, background check, and ten (10) panel drug screen.
